About Me

My name is Roark MacKinnon, I am 24 years old.
I am an experienced long distance sailor, with close to 11,000 miles traveled on one of earths most beautiful elements. Which led me far from comfort, and brought me to some of the most amazing people and places. I find it foolish to think you could see everything that is beautiful in this world given one life, so I try my best to waste no time.
I first came to British Columbia to work as a private Chef, on a small island off of Sonora, during the past summer months. I gained a strong attachment to the nature and inspiration this province provides, and had the pleasure of living on an amazing, organic farm in Granite bay.
Now I am enjoying my time roaming Vancouver Island until the
spring time when I will head back to Prince Edward Island, to run a farm to table restaurant outside of Cavendish, and would be happy to host any travelers if time allows.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met a really cool girl in a coffee shop, who led me to the CS site.
- It seems like an awesome way to meet great people all around the world!
- Local people can give you a feel for a place, that is hard to find any other way.
- I would like to travel around the world while meeting new friends along the way.
- I would be happy to give anyone who shows me around, a place to stay on the east coast of Canada.
- I travel a lot, it can be expensive and I really enjoy meeting people.
