About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Showing gratitude to a complete stranger for a kindness of shelter and food is a difficult thing to do without gift, repayment or gesture. Sometimes all that can be done is to know that you will one day show the same kindness to another fellow traveller

ABOUT ME

I would like to think of myself as quite an easy going, laid back and fun loving person who is always up for a laugh. I love meeting new and interesting people and hearing the stories they have to tell. I think it's the best way to learn about yourself and the world around you by having new experiences and sharing those of others.

PHILOSOPHY

lol I saw this on Kung Fu Panda...'yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, but today is a gift...that's why it's called 'the present''...thought it was a cool little philosophy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch is always open to people passing through or who want to spent time in my town, and I will always do the best I can to make someone feel welcome. I know that when I have been travelling and needed somewhere to stay the generosity of others has made a big difference! Couch surfing is also such a great way to meet people and get off the tourist tracks :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the past I'd stayed with people that I've met on the road who have been kind enough to put me up for a night or too and it's been just fantastic. I've surfed and hosted and few times now with couchsurfing.org and it's been just as great too.

Interests

I'm quite an active person and just love being outdoors. Whether that's hiking for 3 days up a mountain, scuba-diving or just sitting in the garden with a cold beer I'm happy :-). I love nature and studied biology with marine biology at university, now doing a masters in conservation...a little eco-warrior at heart! I'm also a big sports fan/player and love playing anything I can whenever I can...

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes I like movies, music and books. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's difficult to choose the most amazing thing I've seen...but without doubt some of the most special experiences in my life have been with wildlife. Whether it has been in the jungle, underwater, or even in my back garden nature will always leave me speechless. Staying up all night watching female turtles dig nests and lay eggs will never get old though :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I do have an insatiable thirst for knowledge so I'm always keen to learn. Having been like this for some time though it means I can be a fountain of knowledge albeit sometimes completely useless!
