Mais um gringo tentando se tornar mais brasileiro. No momento, sou visitante em São Paulo, de onde minha namorada é, mas gostaríamos de morar aqui no futuro. Sou novo na cidade e espero que o Couchsurfing me ajude a conhecer pessoas legais e a explorar SP melhor.

Sou inglês, mas morei na Austrália nos últimos seis anos. Entendo quase bem o português quando é falado devagar, mas ainda tenho muito a aprender!

Another gringo trying to become more Brazilian. At the moment I'm a visitor to São Paulo, where my girlfriend is from, but we would like to live here in the future. I am new to the city and am hoping that Couchsurfing will help me meet some cool people and get to know SP better.

I am English but have been living in Australia for the past six years. I understand Portuguese quite well when it's spoken slowly, but still have a lot of learning to do!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

No momento, só para conhecer pessoas e lugares. Desde que descobri o Couchsurfing, não vivi em uma casa com espaço para mais de uma pessoa, mas espero ter a oportunidade de receber pessoas quando me mudar para uma nova casa no final deste ano.

At the moment, just to get to know people and places. Since discovering Couchsurfing I haven't lived in a home with space for more than one person, but I am hoping to have the opportunity to host people when I move into a new house later this year.

Musica - Eu amo jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul, e muito mais. Uma seleção aleatória dos meus artistas favoritos é Miles Davis, Anouar Brahem, Radiohead, A Tribe Called Quest, Fatouma Diawara, Aphex Twin, e Chico César.

Livros - Eu leio muitos livros sobre história e economia política. Quando não posso viajar fisicamente, gosto de "trapacear" usando romances e filmes. Alguns dos romances que tenho apreciado recentemente são ‘Terra Sonâmbula’, por Mia Cuoto; ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’, por Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie; e ‘The God of Small Things’, por Arundhati Roy.

Filmes - Eu gosto de filmes lentos que retratam a vida de pessoas "comuns" extraordinárias. Alguns dos meus favoritos são Roma, Io Capitano, e Persona.

Books - I read a lot of books about history and political economy. When I can't travel physically, I like to cheat by using novels and movies. Some of the novels I have enjoyed recently are ‘Sleepwalking Land’, by Mia Cuoto; ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie; and ‘The God of Small Things’, by Arundhati Roy.

Movies - I tend to like slow films which depict the lives of extraordinary “ordinary” people. A few of my favourites include Roma, Io Capitano, and Persona.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Viver na floresta tropical da América Central por um mês foi uma experiência incrível. Viajar e fazer couchsurfing na Palestina foi, às vezes, desafiador, mas sempre muito inspirador.

Living in the Central American rainforest for a month was a beautiful experience. Travelling and couchsurfing in Palestine was sometimes challenging but always very inspiring.
