CURRENT MISSION

I'm studying hard to take the C2 Spanish exam in May, whilst maintaining my French and Russian. I work as a freelance English teacher, so building and maintaining my own business takes up a fair bit of my time, but I'm having fun so it's cool!

ABOUT ME

I've been in Barcelona for a couple of years, so I know where all the nice little hidden places are. Hit me up, we can grab a tea (or even a vermouth/beer whatever if you're feeling adventurous), go for a hike in the hills or check out an expo. I'm really on here to meet people for language practice - I'd be happy to show you around BCN in exchange for conversation practice in French or Russian and I'll make sure you have a great time while you're here!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people for language exchange and make new friends from other countries. I'd love to explore France further and visit Russia.

Books; George Orwell, Roald Dahl, Robert Greene, Various biographies. The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks. The psychology of persuasion by R. Cialdini. Currently reading 'Outliers' by Malcolm Gladwell.

Music; Current listens are Chuck Berry, Sleigh Bells, Skrillex, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Die Antwoord and Prince. Guilty pleasures include 2000s skate-punk and Limp Bizkit. I know a KILLER rock bar here in BCN, you'd LOVE it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recorded a cover of an Elvis song in Sun studios, which is the same studio in Memphis, Tennessee where Elvis and Johnny Cash cut their first records.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I can play guitar to a reasonable standard and would be happy to show you a few things. I also speak Spanish to a near-native level so I'm always up for practice. Other than that I know of a few groups here that offer free rollerskating lessons, we could always head out together.
