ABOUT ME
I'm a social person: I get along with people very easily. I always find a topic of conversation, to chat about while drinking tea, coffee, beer or wine. Never prejudiced, but I like to discuss a lot about politics with friends and there it might get a little out of hand...
I like to travel, and during my trips (usually together with a large group or just me and my girlfriend) I always want to make contact with the people I come across. Co-travelers or locals... it is so much more fun when you get to know other people when you're in a different part of the world. It makes the journey more 'human' you can say...
You can always call me for a bite to eat of a drink, and I'm glad to come as long as I'm not stuck with work or something. Too bad lately, since I'm a full time working man, it happens too mich to my taste. But still, the principle counts!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In 2012 we stayed on our Scandinavia-trip with Jose in Oslo and with Patrik in Sundsvall. Really nice people!
And I have hosted people in my house as well... but as I said, never with CouchSurfing.
Interests
Music: listening to rock, folkrock, punkrock... in general, the music festival line up. But I also like some dance-songs and a couple of Dutch artists. I play guitar in a folkpunkrock band, influenced by The Pogues, Flogging Molly and The Ramones. We play live shows approximately every two months and of course we rehearse every two weeks.
Apart from music I like reading (novels, history books and/or political biographies), traveling and sightseeing. Walking in the woods and chilling on a terrace with a beer are also great interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Best wedding I ever been to: last year me and my girlfriend were traveling through the Balkans. We visited a friend of mine who stayed with his parents in law in rural Romania (near Botosani). We could stay there for three nights and it was great. We were invited to a wedding in the little town and it was such a great party. Got to meet a lot of nice people, and for some reason there were a lot of Dutch people there - which made the conversation a lot easier, even after loads of beer and wodka. Great.
With the band we once played live for an audience of 20.000 people on a large square in Maastricht. It was broadcasted live on television and radio. And didn't even get nervous, however the sight of so many people was awesome!
