About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have as many new experiences, in as many places as possible. My best moments in life have been when I’ve travelled and seen different parts of the world, made new friends, experienced new cultures, and learned new languages. Want to do this for as long as I can.

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going guy, love to laugh, to travel, to meet new people and make new friends. My plan is to learn more, travel more, try new things more. Learn languages. I own an online business that gives me the freedom to work from anywhere. I’ve had a few businesses and am still trying to hit the jackpot, and that’s all part of the fun. Love seeing new places, having unplanned adventures and unforgettable experiences.

It is important for me to keep in good shape. I love playing sports (most fun way to keep fit) and exercise most days. I have a lot of energy, can't stand still for too long.

I used to be an actor, back in the day, but decided it wasn’t for me. Always been a big lover of films and it would be great to meet someone who is into films too and can recommend their favourites.

I'm always trying to better myself. I speak Portuguese intermediately and have recently started learning Spanish. I’m currently travelling and am in Maryland, USA. I’ve lived in São Paulo a couple of times (over 6 months), Lisbon in 2018/19, Istanbul in 2020. I’m leaving from Miami on 22/9 and will be working part time at a beach hostel in Panama. Not sure where I’ll go after that but am tempted to return to São Paulo for new year.

2 Truths and a Lie:

* I spent a week in a coma
* I’ve travelled to 23 countries.
* I’ve lent my headphones to Tom Hardy

PHILOSOPHY

"There is nothing more useless than that which is behind you."

From my favourite film Magnolia. I love this quote because you should always be moving forward, pushing yourself to the max, trying to reach for the unreachable. The past has gone, now does not exist, the future is what you make it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel and make new friends. Couch or no couch, meeting new people, learning about other ways of life, other cultures is vital if you want to become a more knowledgeable and enlightened person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled to Brazil for the World Cup and had the most AMAZING time! I met SO many wonderful people there, good natured, genuine people and made a ton of friends. All the people I couch surfed with were excellent hosts and I felt honoured to stay with them. They are all my true friends and are welcome to couch surf with me any time.

I travelled across Europe in 2015 on my way to a wedding in Tuscany, Italy. On my way, I met loads of super folk in Paris, Toulouse, Barcelona, and Nice. Some of these were from CS and others were people I met at hostels.

I went back to Sao Paulo in 2015/16 and again in 2017. In 2018/19 I lived in Lisbon to continue my traveller's lifestyle and improve my Portuguese. I made more friends through CS and continued learning about different environments and cultures.

I went to Istanbul in 2020 and was going to get hair implants but was scammed online and couldn’t afford it 🤷‍♂️ Was there when the pandemic started, meaning two flights home where cancelled. Managed to get back eventually.

Interests

I love movies, theatre, TV, playing games and sports. I am interested in learning about other cultures and want to experience living in different parts of the world. Love sports, especially football and the experience of being in Brazil during the World Cup is unforgettable and will live with me forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing Iguaca Falls in Brazil was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. The Eiffel Tower at night, at Christmas, lit up by lights. Beautiful. When I used to act I forgot my lines on stage at the RSC in front of over a 1000 people. That was an amazingly awful moment for me. :) I'm awestruck every time I've seen Derren Brown live, his shows are incredible!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and taught in São Paulo and Lisbon. I am now teaching online as I continue to travel.

I have a Facebook Fan Page and Group, a YouTube Channel, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter. It’s called Netting Money and I share ways for people to make money online.

As well as this, I am a personable, positive guy and enjoy making people happy and laughter is the best medicine. I have a few recipes I can cook for us, I have an inquisitive mind and will have lots of questions for you if you don't mind answering them. I also have my English teaching skills if you have any questions or queries for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help them with their English, if they need it! I'll also share my love of movies, recommend my favourites, discuss musical tastes, the greatest books, and learn about theirs.
