From London to Singapore via land!!!

ABOUT ME

We are 2 best friends from Ireland who are going on a huge adventure from our current home of London to Sydney, Australia, where we intend to live for a year or two. We are planning to do the whole thing on land (apart from Pakistan which we are avoiding due to the current political situation).

Rob:
Hey whats up? I'm a mid 20's guy who just finished a degree in Hospitality Management. The last 3 years have been really hectic so now I am looking forward to a long trip to experience new cultures and see new things. I love meeting new people, getting out there and doing things, and beer!

Tom:
Im a 26 year old physiotherapist, born and bred in Dublin, Ireland. Im obsessed with traveling and I have lived in 8 countries already (Ireland, UK, Sweden, France, USA, Canada, Nepal and South Africa) and ive visited 27. One of my goals in life is to visit every country in the world.

Both of us are really friendly guys and enjoy meeting new people. We are really interested in new cultures and experiences that can only be found when travelling abroad. We are gay friendly and very liberal.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're new to CS but it seems like a really great site and once we have finished our trip, it would be great to give back and have someone crash at our house!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Neither of us have used Couch surfing before but we have many friends who have and they've said what a great experience it has been. It's great to know that there are so many people out there who are willing to open up their homes to a stranger and meet and experience new people around the world.

Im a massive tennis fan - Ive travelled all over the world to attend tennis tournaments as it is my huge passion.

Rob:
I'm a food queen. I love eating. lol!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tom:
In Jan 2010 I went to Kathmandu in Nepal for 2 months on my own to do physiotherapy volunteer work in a school for children with neurological diseases. It was a really humbling and eye opening experience and I enjoyed every moment of it. I'd never been travelling on my own to that extent before and it was sometimes difficult but I met some amazing people and it made me a tougher person.
