About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, see, experience, enjoy. With independence come the possibilities - and those are best explored while young!

ABOUT ME

I am still a student - I want it to stay that way for a while, after I spend one whole year working as a full time employee in an international company, while still doing my few last remaining courses at the university. I love travelling, I meet a lot of interesting people everywhere I go and I want to enjoy that even more! I have lived in Poland, Germany and right now in Japan. I like to have a deep experience of the land I am in - I love travelling by car, but it is not the best choice for faraway trips abroad.
I am educated and open to new skills and experiences, trying to comprehend new things is a higly rewarding pastime to me. I like learning languages, but I don't particularily like sitting in class - I would rather be on the way somewhere, because I often enjoy the travel itself more than the place of destination.
My life until my 20s has not been very rich in wild travels abroad - I had a lot going on in my home country and didn't have neither time nor resources to plan even short trips abroad.
With me being an independent person with some sense of direction in which I am heading, I hope to change that.

I do a lot of sports at home, a bit less when I am in other countries, but I enjoy simple quasi-sporty activities like hiking or biking really much - that gives a lot of opportunities to go places and do some challenging stuff everywhere I am.

PHILOSOPHY

I have a career that I will have to craft myself ahead of me, that makes me even more eager to enjoy the time I have now - the last moment when I am still a student and can go wherever I want as long as I have money for the ticket!
Live, see, enjoy, experience - and then go back to shaping your future, but don't forget about fun while you are sculpting that precious future you dreamt of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a surfer, I want to come, socialize with the host, spend some time together and see what you as the host enjoy about the city you live in! I have various experiences with what various nations call fun and widening that list is one of my aims :)
A the very moment I am not able to host anyone - the university policy successfuly prevents the dorm residents from doing that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed on a couch found on Couchsurfing just once, with a friend of mine who had her profile created long ago and took me with her - great experience, the host turned out to have some family roots in my home country, which made the time that we spend together very special - suddenly we became almost kin, talking about the experiences of us all and possible future travels.

Interests

Sports, books - especially fantasy stuff, computer games as well, languages, cultures, travel, movies and theatre.
I used to be a profi fencer - now just a relaxation sport for me.
Hiking, diving, skiing, shooting, hunting, cars and motorbikes, history of the countries I am in, CASTLES (I like how they built those huge monumental constructions to protect against invaders!)
... and many, many more - some I will simply forget to mention, some that I have not discovered yet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lord of the Rings above all. Marvel movies, special effects ones, dramas, anime (favourites - Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note), not demanding comedies as well. From recent movies - most of the Oscar nominated ones - 12 years a slave, Her, Dallas Buyers Club, Django, Captain Phillips, Red, The Expendables and more.
Older ones with meaning tome - 7 Samurai, 10 items or less, Seven Souls, 12 monkeys, 12 Angry men, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Dirty harry, The Great Race. Many, really many, I consider myself a kind of movie freak.
Music - most recently - Daft Punk, 30 Seconds to Mars, Imagine Dragons, Fall Out Boy and new Michael Jackson.
Books - LOTR, many polish books - the Witcher among them, Game of Thrones, Grisham, King, recently Robert Jordan as well, The Great Gatsby, Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Clive Cussler, Karl May.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done to date is coming to Japan. I have seen many things here, including the famous sakura trees and Kyoto Imperial Palace - there is still much more to see and I will explore Japan as long as I have time, money and strenght to do that!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know the listed languages, most of them pretty good, good enough to be a viable teacher it the time allows - I can cook some popular meals from my country and from other European countries as well - I am pretty handy with computers and bicycles, usually good enought to fix the malfunctions myself. I know some things about household repairs as well, some basic construction knowledge, painting and other - I am pretty handy with things you have to do around the house, my father took care of that!
