Overview
About Me
What best describes me is the way I pursue my life, and that is following a quote of Richard Branson:
'Measurement of succes: happiness'
and then of course the whole list of stats haha: 24-year-old from the Netherlands (Hollaaand!), studying Business Information Management in Rotterdam (Erasmus University). As part of my studies, I studied in Hong Kong for about half a year and that was my big 'traveling' trigger. Last year I lived and worked in South-America (mostly Buenos Aires and Medellin). I try to go abroad about once a month (city tips throughout Europe) and make one big trip every 2 years. Furthermore I'm a big fan of sailing (I also work at a sailing school), football and triathlon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I said above, I want to do a big time travel every two years. Currently I'm in Spain to life here for some months, write my thesis and train for my triathlon. To me, making use of Couchsurfing, seems one of the best ways to make my trip one big, unforgettable and amazing experience! Meeting people from all over the world and live the local life!
Interests
My biggest 'interests' are my friends & family. I truly love to spend time with them in any imaginable setting; from drinking cocktails with them on a rooftop bar in Hong Kong to drinking a local brewed beer in the middle of nowhere in Vietnam.
More practically spoken, sailing and running are my biggest passions. For over eight years I've worked at a sailing school, teaching children and adults. About triathlon, now in training for the Barcelona ironman competition. For me the perfect way to clear my mind and get fully energized!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music
That varies extremely haha, but if I need to choose one, it would be Kygo like music (https://soundcloud.com/kygo).
Movies
Haha I'm more a series kind of guy! For example: Suits, Game of Thrones, Prison Break, Arrow, Two And A Halve Man, HIMYM and House of Cards.
Books
The last book I read was 'The Shadow of the Wind' by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, loved it! But I also enjoy practical/inspiring books by inspirational leaders/persons.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran the full (42,195KM) New York Marathon and raised €7000 for a charity against child cancer! Biggest challenge of my life!
Teach, Learn, Share
One thing I could definitely learn/teach you is sailing, English and some fantastic drinking games! In return, it would be awesome to learn more languages :) I think it is a fantastic thought that the more languages I speak, the more people I can communicate with!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Beer and good company! Hopefully you can show me around and let me taste the authentic, local life
