About Me

I am currently a student at the University of Manchester studying mathematics and physics. Like most people on here I love to travel and have been lucky enough to live a year in the USA.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Do what you can to explore your world and do things you wouldn't normally do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my year studying in Massachusetts, I met a fantastic group of people who were all very keen, hikers, climbers and explorers, and I was offered the chance to move in with them for my second semester. They introduced me to couchsurfing and it seemed like a fun thing to try.

Surfing and hosting is a fantastic way to meet like minded people and there's gotta be something special about anyone who's willing to open their homes to road weary travelers!

I'm currently traveling the USA, but hope to open up my house to fellow Couchsurfers next year when I return home.

Interests

Aside from traveling, I play several instruments and am really into independent cinema. I play cricket for my village in the UK and love playing and watching many sports, particularly ping-pong, squash and badminton.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy, Lord of the Rings, ASOIAF, anything by Bill Bryson, Sherlock Holmes and many, many, many physics textbooks...

Films:

My music taste covers classic (particularly 60s) rock, jazz, indie and folk music. As well as anything I can learn to play myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 250 mile bike tour with a few friends visiting two national parks along the way. It was an amazing trip and I really enjoyed be able to travel completely under my own steam.

Teach, Learn, Share

If anyone ever wants to hear some cool maths or physics I'm always down to talk about my studies, but otherwise;

Teach: Music, singing, how to play cricket, photo editing and a few cool ways to throw a frisbee.

Learn: Photography, cooking, anything outdoorsy.

What I can share: Stories of travels across several continents and a desire to try new things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring a passion for adventure and an ever growing collection of stories. I'm rarely found without a musical instrument of some description so I'm always down for a singalong!

Countries I’ve Visited
