About Me

I'm Robbie. I'm 39 years old, genuine, independent and professional. I am very creative and friendly with a good sense of humour, at least I hope so because I do improvised comedy shows! I am also very musical and I sing, compose and play several instruments.

I have not travelled much in the last 8 years because life gets in the way! So now I am really keen to rediscover my passion for other cultures, local people and weird and wonderful attractions. I am also always happy to play live action Escape Games. They are popular everywhere now and I run one in my local area so I should (hopefully) be pretty good at them by now!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is new to me. I'm very exited to be trying out this new way of travelling and I hope it will help me to see more of the world with local knowledge and make some great friends along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music

There is too much music I adore to list here but among my favourite albums are:

The Youngbloods - Elephant Mountain
Radiohead - OK Computer
Beck - Sea Change
Hanson - The Walk
Tool - Lateralus
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - Deja Vu
Fever Ray - Fever Ray
Anything by Devin Townsend
and the Jesus Christ Superstar Musical!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to enjoy travelling when I was younger and have spent time in many European countries. I have also been many times to Bali (I used to own a house there) and once spent a month doing a conservation project in the Galapagos Islands.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot of random stuff!

I could teach songs to lift the heart, games to lift a smile and traditional barn dances to lift the spirits - (I learned them from my dad!)

And I love to share and learn as much as I can in life either by talking , seeing or doing. I'm very open minded and love to talk both about deep subjects or just silly nonsense.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would always aim to share respect and consideration. If a stranger is opening their home to me then I believe it's important for everyone to feel comfortable and safe. I intend to be honest at all times and I feel I am a good person with a good heart and lots of life to live!
