About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Systems, man!

ABOUT ME

I'm generally nice, easy to get along with, and laugh at anyone's jokes - you won't really know if I'm genuine as I tend to hide behind cryptic hints implying that I'm only taking a certain argument to stimulate conversation, or that I'm only behaving as I am in order to make you think about something. No, I'm honest. Honest.

PHILOSOPHY

My overman is the one who can jump between value systems or philosophical frameworks at will depending on where they are, what they're looking at, who they're with. I think you're an immensely complex bag of chemicals and dust, a self-perpetuating iteration of system neither of us can comprehend. Most likely you're stuck in the same rut as me; convinced that you have a membrane-bound self, rather than being a world in which every other organism on the planet struggles to survive. Whatever, just talk about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently studying economics/ecology at uni, workin' to pay rent, offerin' a place for anyone to stay, but more importantly, an 'in' to the city, a friend who'll say - yeah, but you ought to see this, go there, do that!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My brother and I toured across North America, having numerous brilliant experiences on couches/floors in America and Canada. Ride-shares from Craig's List, hitch-hiking, this sort of stuff.

Interests

At present, incredibly interested in catching up on all the reading that seems to have been missing from my education; a lot of philosophy, history, social theory etc.
I'm intrigued by the state of the world, and that is where my life is headed - in the broad direction of addressing climate change, poverty, creation and destruction of eco-systems, governmental mis-management etc. etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

EVERYTHING.

Almost.. Except bad things, I like everything.
Favourite film is 'The Lion King', absolutely love it, should be taught in schools.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cried in a museum. Literally, fell to pieces, sobbing over an exhibition about the Berlin Blockade. Somehow I just received this enormous injection of emotion. It was overwhelming.

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up on an Australian sheep farm, might be able to educate you there a bit. I have a reasonable experience with outdoor adventure stuff - did all the Duke of Edinburough..
I would not suggest that at twenty I have a lot to share, or teach, but I'm always up for storytime, love teasing apart someone's opinion, trying to make sense of the world and imagining a more sensible world.
