Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
To embrace post-graduate life, get my feet settled, and figure out a little bit more about myself and where I want to be in a few years.
ABOUT ME
"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." Professor Harold Hill, The Music Man
I work for a local university and also perform in local musicals. I'm a tall goofy guy who enjoys having a good time. Constantly meeting new people from different backgrounds is really important to me and I feel as though everyone has something to teach me.
I love love, nostalgia, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the 20's.
Music is a huge passion of mine and I love just about every type you can imagine. I really enjoy singing, choral music, musical theatre, performing, and indie stuff. I'm on a never-ending search for music!
PHILOSOPHY
"It occurred to me then, that perhaps the reason for my growth was that I was intended for larger things. After all, a giant man canât have an ordinary-sized life." Edward Bloom, Big Fish
"He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God. So he waited, listening for a moment longer to the tuning-fork that had been struck upon a star. Then he kissed her. At his lips' touch she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete."- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
"You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period." -Chris Gardner, The Pursuit of Happyness
"It is youth's felicity as well as its insufficiency that it can never live in the present, but must always be measuring up the day against its own radiantly imagined future - flowers and gold, girls and stars, they are only prefigurations and prophecies of that incomparable, unattainable young dream." -Fitzgerald "The Diamond as Big as the Ritz"
"Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you." -Walt Whitman
âNo man, for any considerable period of time, can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the truth.â â Nathaniel Hawthorne
"clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you and over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.â âColossians 3:12-14
"Abilities wither under criticism; they blossom under encouragement." -Dale Carnegie
"There are all kinds of love in the world, but never the same love twice." -F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Sensible Thing
"Liberty is too precious to get buried in books. Men ought to hold it up in front of them - even on the screens - every day of their lives and say, 'I am free - to think - to speak. My ancestors couldn't. I can. My children will." -Jefferson Smith, Mr. Smith goes to Washington.
"But we by a love so much refined, That ourselves know not what it is, Inter-assured of the mind, Care less, eyes, lips and hands to miss." - "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning," John Donne
"With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy? -Oscar Wilde
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." - Roald Dahl
"The happiness of life is made up of the little charities of a kiss or smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment."âSamuel Taylor Coleridge
"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." - Plato
âbut before I can live with other folks Iâve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesnât abide by majority rule is a personâs conscience.â -Atticus Finch, To Kill a Mockingbird
"A great man shows his greatness by the way he treats little men." -Thomas Carlyle
"Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake." - Victor Hugo
"Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success." -Dale Carnegie
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke
"Stretched out on the beach, a boy and a girl. Savoring their limes, giving their kisses like clouds exchanging foam..." - Octavio Paz
âI am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. Iâm going to take a stand. Iâm going to defend it. Right or wrong, Iâm going to defend it.â â Cameron, Ferris Buellerâs Day off
âHide not your talents, they for use were made. Whatâs a sundial in the shade?â- Benjamin Franklin
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed with some of the most fantastic people on the planet. While traveling for a month throughout Europe, I found my couchsurfing encounters and experiences were some of the most memorable. The relationships continue, and I am forever in debt to those who housed me and welcomed me so warmly. It's like a mini-exchange!
Interessen
I am really interested in meeting new people. Making new friendships and acquaintances (which I just typically consider 'friends') keeps me going and truly inspires me. I find the field of human relations incredibly interesting, and I'm always looking to expand my understanding of how people operate, so that I may be a better person because of it.
I feel like traveling is one of the greatest outlets for expanding oneself.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Way too many to list! Hmmm...I stumbled upon a little pub in Edinburgh and listened to some locals performing Scottish Folk music!
Lehren, lernen, teilen
U.S. History and politics, all sorts of music (including theory), the fundamentals of singing and trombone, basketball, American Football, food, and human relations relating to communication (mainly interpersonal) are all things that I feel I can share with some level of competence, although I'm always looking to learn more.
I really want to learn more about other cultures and their peoples' ways of doing things and communicating (written, verbal, musical).
Please share with me your favorite musical artists! I really am on a never-ending search for finding the best stuff out therw. I feel like I have a lot of good tunes and artists to share with people, but I am really interested in learning about more!
