About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The world is alive and we, the living mind of the planet, are at once the Earth's synapses, receiving messages and her neurotransmitters, carrying signals from one geographic region to another. Currently, I am a traveling transmitter.

ABOUT ME

An open minded explorer. I love life, I live to travel, and I travel to meet new people and exchange ideas, experiences, comedy and love. I enjoy playing in (and with) nature, especially on a mountain bike, on skis, and on foot. I am a natural talker, but I'm a listener too.

Most recently I have been traveling around Latin America on my bicycle.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm still pretty new to formal Couchsurfing, although I've spent many nights sleeping on the couches of good people I've meet traveling and hosting travelers on mine. These are always my best experiences traveling and I think this is what CS is all about: facilitating semi-random, short, and intense interchanges between simpatico people.

Interests

I'm a liberal arts student who enjoys discussing history, art, literature, philosophy, world religions, mythology, and the Grateful Dead. I'm a former lacrosse player who loves to mountain bike, hike, swim, and trail run. I really want to learn how to rock climb. I also dig writing, especially about my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music of all kinds. But some of my favorites: Grateful Dead, Beethoven, Traditional Irish Music, anything with the Sitar, and Reggae.

I'm also an avid reader, usually juggling a few books at any given time (which sucks for my back when living out of a backpack, haha). Classic fiction, some Sci-Fi, history, mythology, and philosophy. Big-ups to those rare gems who nicely mix all of these together: Joyce, Hesse, Thomas Mann, Kurt Vonnegut, Dr. Seuess to name a few. Could and would love to talk about this for hours.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few months ago I bicycled around New Zealand's south Island for 2 months. Slept under the stars every night and didn't once get rained on! (An amazing stroke of luck given New Zealand's haphazard weather). It was for sure the highlight of the 15 months I spent roaming NZ.

Teach, Learn, Share

To Teach:
I love helping people learn how to help themselves; that we can all be our own guru.

To Learn:
I love stories. I'm fascinated in mythologies old and new from all over the world, especially looking at how their similarities and differences reveal certain universal and ageless "memes" which are endlessly re-flavored by the "cultural spices" unique to different times and places. ... Memes and spices entices, oh my!

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I share:
Everything my friends. My only rule, now that I think of it: I'm an open book. Let's get into it.

Countries I’ve Visited
