CURRENT MISSION
To find every adventure life has to offer. Some adventures involve hurtling yourself off the side of a bridge attached only to a stretchy cord, others involve just remembering to smell the flowers or admire a weird bug.
ABOUT ME
Like a lot of travelers, in some respects our lives are wildly unconventional; in others we might seem like the most ordinary people you've ever met. We are homebodies at heart and would rather cook for a dinner party over meeting at a restaurant, yet our tendency of moving across the country every few years gives us lots of incentive to explore each new city at every opportunity so we don't miss anything before we move on. Will our next vacation be spent in a cafe in Paris or checking out Easter Island? It is anybodies guess really, you just never know with us. In fact, *we* don't really know. Our lives just seem to unfold in crazy awesome fashion.
Ten things to know about us:
1. We love exploring. It could be a park, a museum, a cemetery, a greasy diner, a neighborhood - if it involves walking, we are usually up for it. We also have an inexplicable inclination to climb any staircase we see, but we try and behave around company.
2. We will gladly look at your travel photos and listen to your travel stories! We intend to travel everywhere, and absolutely want to get your tips and hear about your adventures. I would rather listen to someone talk about travel more than just about anything.
3. Number Two notwithstanding, I swear we won't bring out our travel photos unless you ask to see them. :) But we do have a couple of good stories up our sleeves too, like the time I got chased by a Komodo Dragon in Indonesia or the time he got mugged in Puerto Rico.
4. We are proud dorks, which means we occasionally burst into song and/or choreography. Yeah, its embarrassing. But, like I said, we try to behave with company.
5. We both are ex-theatre actors (L.A. and Broadway), which means that we are a little crazy but have now come to our senses. Well, somewhat. But we still love to go see a show. Career wise, I am now a nurse, and he works at a charter school for autistic children. So we both have stories about poop.
6. We have been a couple for 19 years, something that makes me pretty darn happy. And happy people make better friends you know.
7. We are gypsies of a sort, and have lived in Sacramento, Irvine, West Hollywood, Santa Maria, San Diego, New York, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Singapore, Taipei (Taiwan), and now here in Washington DC. On the wish list: Honolulu and Sydney.
8. We are Mac users. I know, enough said.
9. We're non-smokers, and have no pets.
10. If we are asking to surf with you, know that we are very self-sufficient and able to entertain ourselves. The world was built to be explored, so we are unlikely to be lounging around the house during the day. (What is up with those backpackers who sit around hostels watching Jerry Springer all day? I just don't get it.) If you have time to show us around or have dinner with us that would be awesome, but if you don't that is perfectly fine too. We are clean and considerate guests.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We want to connect with fellow travelers. Whether that means us hosting you or you hosting us, we are open to the possibilities.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As a backpacker I was treated to incredible hospitality by virtual strangers with amazing frequency. Now that we've found this site, we've been able to host and surf and have enjoyed both. What a great way to meet people, we are very excited to have joined up here.

The quote that sent Robb backpacking into Asia: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain
