About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hi, I'm a psychological therapist from England! I love travelling and right now I'm on the most amazing travelling experience taking in as much of the world as possible. I've definitely been bitten by the bug! I love to meet new people from all over the world, learning as much as possible about as many things as possible! I'm currently in Brazil and have been here for about 9 months living in Sao Paulo finding out what life is like in a huge city (it's flipping ace!). I've just come back from the northeast of the country too which was one of the best experiences in my life!

ABOUT ME

I love being impulsive, packing my rucksack (Martha) and jetting off! I've been to many places in Europe and have loved the time I've had in Brazil. My friends would say that I'm funny in a dry, sarcastic, pretty English way and I have the spirit of adventure, I'm always eager to learn something new and I'm able to teach some cool stuff in English, share a beer, cook (I like to try anyway) or just hang out.

PHILOSOPHY

We're here for a good time not a long time!

No risk, no fun

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live couchsurfing and have slept in hammocks and beds, on sofas and floors. Sao Paulo had a great CS scene and I loved the events we have here!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in many places in Europe, Mexico and South America, people are so lovely! Just about to host the first person in my place here too!

Interests

I am in love with travelling and seeing as much of the world as possible! I have a massive passion for football, Manchester United's and my team here in Brazil Corinthians. Over a beer I can put the world of football or psychology to rights ;)

Travelling massively changed my outlook on life and others. Prior to going out to Paris in my own I had little interest in going anywhere! After experiencing the wonders of the French capital, meeting someone who would go on to become one of my best friends and feeling the thrill of the adventure, I knew that this is what I was going to do!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Morrissey, The Smiths, Oasis, Arctic monkeys, The National, Interpol, Matt & Kim and Belle and Sebastian.

I love In Brugge with Colin Farrell and inspired me to go there. Love a comedy and Airplane! has to be my favourite. Pulp fiction, Godfather and Lost in Translation too and I also love Wes Anderson movies!

Currently getting through The Subtle Knife which is really good but my favourite book ever would have to be We Need To Talk About Kevin, a book so brilliant I had to call my friend at 1am to tell her about it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking part in a samba parade in County in Ireland for St Patricks day was pretty amazing.

Germany at Christmas time must be one of the most beautiful things you will see.

Traveling across Mexico was something I'll never get tired of thinking about - amazing coastlines!

Loved Machu Picchu, an incredibly beautiful place!

Canyon walking in Bolivia for 4 days which nearly killed me for all the energy it took but was bloody worth it!

Living, surviving and thriving in Sao Paulo, making friends, relationships and a life I love!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really easy going so could easily share some cool things to say in English, share a beer in a Sao Paulo bar and we can chat about any nonsense for as long as you wish. I'm also fairly OK, not too bad, decent at cooking too - ish!

If your taste is a more musical I could also teach you a few tunes, chords etc on the guitar - I'm not perfect but I reckon I'm pretty good ;)

I'd love to learn some photography skills as well as some international recipes if anyone has the time!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can give you an my time and whatever I have available to offer at the time whether it be a beer, a coffee, a meal, a chat or an English accent!
