About Me
New to Couchsurfing, but excited about it!
I really like new experiences, but am not opposed to returning to an old reliable one from time to time. My mum's Australian, and my dad was in the army, which gave me the chance to travel a bunch as I grew up. Looking forward to traveling some more!
I went to the University of Maine to get my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, with minors in math and pre-medicine. From there, I became an engineer on submarines with GD Electric Boat. After some fun, lots of intramural sports, and a part time masters degree, it's now time to start my new job on the west coast as an Aeorospace Test and Integration Engineer with Blue Origin.
I am an active coach and volunteer with the Special Olympics; My little brother has Down Syndrome, and, after four years of coaching in Connecticut, I need to find a program to help with in Seattle. I love staying physically and mentally active, and feel like I've wasted a day if I don't haven't stretched my body or mind. When I go out for food, I like getting something that I'd have trouble making at home. I am constantly striving to find balance in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Just got a new job out in Seattle for Blue Origin, and looking to make use of my time off to road trip from Mystic Ct (my former residence) to my future home in Seattle. Planning to see some old friends and make some new ones while enjoying the trip west!
Interests
Hiking, triathlons, scuba diving, travel, and everything else from a comfy coffee shop with a nice book to an EDM concert. I really like a lot of things when I'm with good people and McDonald's isn't on the menu.
