ABOUT ME

Robert:
I'm currently a student and SJSU with about a year left (hopefully). I'm an avid nature photographer, although I wouldn't call myself good yet. I enjoy traveling around for my pictures. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, music, waterfalls and a little bit of everything else.

I'm not much of a drinker, I keep a good supply at my place but rarely dip into it. I will occasionally smoke cigars (1 or 2 a month). I'm pretty quiet but can get along with almost anyone. I'm the type of person who will pick up hitch hikers, and have some frightening stories to show for it!

Dorothy:
I love art, youth and seeing the world. I hope to travel it thoroughly one day at a time. I love Henry David Thoreau. And, I love trees. I care about people and hope to become more aware and involved in social activism.I buy movies all the time. It's an addictive behavior. I love to cook and play board games.

I am pretty much game for new experiences and people.

PHILOSOPHY

Dorothy: I believe that everyone needs love. Love is the center of the universe and the center of every human desire. Love can cure and heal all.

I like philosophy and studied it some in school. Its always fun to have a good discussion or hear what others think!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have couchsurfed quite a few couches. We now have friends all over the world. There are too many more friends to make. We just put our first couch up for surfing. We did not own one before. We love telling people about this wonderful project. It's awesome in so many ways, changed our lives, made us better people..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We couchsurfed in Egypt for our honeymoon. It was tons of fun getting to meet Paola and her family. She invited us to her wedding and other customs too.

Also, we couchsurfed in Paris. It was fun because Paris is such a big city with so much to see. But having people who will spend time to chat and add in some local treasures is truly the best part of any travel adventure!

CSing in Japan was incredible. We made homemade pasta and karaoked with the locals.

So many more friends and stories to share..

Photography, nature, waterfalls, ocean, birds, deer, music, interesting types of beer, scuba diving, geeky computer talk, people, language, culture, books, stories, and undiscovered areas of the world. We love people and culture. Meeting new people all over the world is fantastic. And, food of course is a major interest.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Robert:
I've gone whitewater kayaking quite a few times. That is quite amazing! Class 4 rapids are pretty sweet, one of these days maybe a waterfall? :D

I try to make it out each time I hear about a meteor shower. I find that amazing.

Dorothy:
The stars in Arizona.
I took a road trip with two girlfriends to New Mexico and it was fantastic. Maybe its because I have been living in the big city for much too long. But, stars will never fail to put me in awe!

The Great Wall of China.
It is really hand made; which is also mind boggling. But walking on it is one of the coolest things. The worn out steps of this wall are worth checking out! Its magnificient when nature and man can come together to create something wonderful.

Robert:
I can help with basics of photography. Composition, getting to know all the settings on DSLR cameras, ideas for what to look for.

I'd like to learn about backpacking, its something none of my friends do so I've no one to go with. I love hiking though, I go almost every week to every other week. Anywhere from 4 to 14 mile days. Also rock climbing/bouldering. Something I've always wanted to learn.

Dorothy:
Teach English for 7-12 grade (I have a CSET certificate.)
Vietnamese (conversational and a little bit of writing.)
Finger painting, light cooking, and dress up.
