Overview
About Me
I'm Robert. I grew up in Chicago and traveled a lot during my university years, studying in Beijing, and traveling/living for brief stints in Philadelphia, Boston, Alaska, and India. After finishing my undergraduate program, I moved to Shanghai for several years, and then backpacked through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos for 9 months. I then spent 2 years living in California before making New York City my home. I currently live in Brooklyn, though still love to travel with a backpacker kind of sensibility, always hoping to find the local spots and meet interesting people along the way. I work as a psychotherapist, and am an open and fairly warm person. I'm an easy going creative type, really interested in new experiences and good conversation. I have a two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. If you stay with me, you will have your own room with a bed. Note: This is a mostly clothing free apartment, suitable for likeminded travelers. Feel free to make yourself comfortable and come and go as you need. Please: no visitors while staying at my place, no smoking inside, no drugs (aside from cannabis and/or alcohol which are legal in NYC, and in moderation!).... basically just be a low-key and considerate visitor. Thanks!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've done a lot of unconventional travel and really benefited from the unexpected connections I've made along the way, especially while traveling solo (which I still do fairly often). I love people who like to travel, and who want to talk and share their thoughts and stories. I also really enjoy having community throughout the world.
