About Me

Hi guys,

I am Robert, 35 years old, easy-going. I would say that I can adapt pretty quickly to every situation.

I come from Czech Republic - Pilsen. I studied physiotherapy a year, however, I did not finish it.. Ever since I have done odd jobs such as working as a shop-assistant, at the reception, pizza-deliver, carer,...In November 2016 I finished a voluntary program run by a school in Norway that I started in August 2014. It consisted of 5 different parts and lasted in total over 2 years. The program included working (because not did I earn no money while being in the program, but in fact, I had to pay for it), then studying, travelling and the highlight of the program was a 6-month-long project either in Africa. As for the travel period, I went to Vietnam, Philippines and Papua New Guinea spending a month in each country. After that, I went to Zambia to do a 6-month project there. I finished it at the end of November 2016. After that I worked in Budapest a year and then went to Ireland where I worked a year and quit the job only recently because I decided to embark on travelling to central America for two months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I consider Couchsurfing to be a great opportunity to meet new people, get to know new places, culture...

I cannot host at the moment because I have no steady place to live but by the time I have settled down, I definitely want to host people again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in the voluntary program in Norway, where I met a lot of interesting, open-minded people, which has been definitely useful for me. This program was a big challenge, where I had to learn new things. I also improved my English as well and it forced me to go beyond my boundary. The program had a lot of flaws, but then again, what is perfect might be sort of boring. Furthermore, thanks to this program I am on Couchsurfing now:)
In addition to it, I got to know dumpster diving.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn as much as possible about the countries I am going to visit including culture, mentality, customs...
I can teach for instance chess, some kinds of sport such as table-tennis, squash; I spoke German very well 3 years ago, however, I have used it just a little the last three years.
I can teach something about my country as well or also i can teach you German, Czech, help with English
