Overview
About Me
Chi Om Shanti is the name I go by.
I have been a Devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba since 2009. Which in turn means I am devoted to all, for he has shown me that he dwells in the hearts of all beings. I have many Gurus and at the same time, only one, the timeless infinite self that is within all. I tattooed "Love all serve all we are one" on my arm to help constantly remind me of this Truth. I am super chill and easy to get along with. My motto is "no worries" and "it's all good"
My main guiding principles are surrender to and acceptance of what is, faith, loving kindness, sharing, caring, selfless service, and devotion. Living simply, adopting a sattvic diet, utilizing natural remedies, and avoiding synthetic chemicals in all aspects are essential.
Visiting and meditating at various Temples, Samadhis, Caves, and Holy Sites is my motivation to be in India. I also plan to volunteer my time and energy for half of the time I am there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am couch surfing to make friends and connections in India. I hope to stay for extended periods of time, going back and forth from a tourist visa and a work/volunteer visa.
I would also prefer to meet and connect with people rather than staying at a hotel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
By the time I was 22, I had grown disenchanted with how Western society functioned, and sold/gave away most of my possessions. I bought a backpack and travel gear and set off on foot to live a life less ordinary. I traveled this way for several years before I had to re-enter mainstream society to tend to responsibilities that came to exist in my reality.
Teach, Learn, Share
The best thing I can teach is that you should look within for that which you seek.
What I want to learn is within.
Once remembered, it is shared automatically through being.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a simple being who does not require much and prefers to give more than I am given.
I can share time and energy with everyone.
I have various useful skills, and I would be happy to help with anything that needs to be done around your home. I have been a masseuse, landscaper, gardener, and handyman. I can fix things, cook, clean, and am happy to do any chore that needs to be done. I also love to organize a mess.
