From a career perspective I am a retired surgical neurophysiologist. I work with neurosurgeons during brain and spinal cord surgery helping them navigate around sensitive structures and preserve the nervous system. I’ve also owned and operate a Mellow Mushroom Pizza Restaurant and a small, assisted living facility which I have sold.

Married 25 years with two children who are out of the house one away at college and the other lives locally. One cat (mine) and one dog (wife’s) or I should say it’s the other way around. The cat chose me, and the dog chose Joan.

I enjoy meeting new people and trying new things. I love to travel and learn about new cultures and history. My interests, in no particular order, are mountain biking, running, community theater, music festivals (everything from Welcome to Rockville to Grey Fox, camping-overlanding in my Subaru Outback, scotch, and good food. We live close to the beach and are frequently spending time on the sand.
