Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel is all about experience. For me, the most memorable travel experiences are those where I blended in to normal day-to-day life, an experience couchsurfing is certainly able to create!
For me personally, I am always looking to meet new and interesting people (and to learn about other cultures); where better than in my own home!

Interests

I am interested in sports, an active rower myself. Have a profound interest in Science and Climate Change, the areas in which I work and love adventure in general. Next to that I can also thoroughly enjoy good Belgian beer, a nice movie and good food.

My taste for music, movies and books is very diverse and as changing as Dutch weather (trust me, it is not all rain).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2014, I've sold my house, started a foundation and drove through the former soviet territories, Mongolia and Iran for four months lecturing about Climate Change and ways in which technology can help.

And:
- I drunk fermented horse milk (with alcohol) in Kazakhstan (it's good!),
- Ate cheese from the sleeve of an old man in the middle of the Gobi desert at night,
- Never missed a plane yet!
