When traveling to new places, I hate being a stereotypical tourist and sleeping at hotels, paying for tours and the such, I want to really experience the culture and interact with the locals to get the genuine feel for an area. Plus, you can travel farther and more in-depth exploration with not having to worry about money by going thru Couchsurfing. And hey, all the best things in life are free!
