About Me

I'm an easy going, relaxed guy originally from Budapest,Hungary.

By training, I am a landscape architect, but now before starting to do my MSc in the same field I wanted to have a little break, so now I'm working as a pub crawl guide - what is super fun! I love to meet and hang out with people from all around the globe, and I also enjoy showing my city and it's nightlife with them.

I'm very social, I spent most of my free time with my friends and family ( and my pup, Dolfi). I enjoy going out with them, sharing a meal, and exploring new places. I'm always happy to meet other people as well.
I also love to do creative things, I especially enjoy making stupid photo collages.

you can find some more pics on my instagram: beorrt
also feel free to check my facebook, though I don't share much there: https://www.facebook.com/rbrt.schck

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So to be honest, I'm a student, therefor I'm on a pretty tight budget.
Also, I think that staying with locals is more fun and I can learn more about the place, than while staying ina hostel. I'm not the kind of tourist who goes to tripadvisor and check what he 'has to' see. I love to get recommendations from locals and go off the beaten path, to see the real face and feel the real vibe of the place, which is sometimes can be a bit hidden by the main tourist attractions.

Music, Movies, and Books

Concerning music, since I'm using Spotify, I usually listen to the playlists that I make, and often I'm not even aware of the name of the artist. If you are interested you are welcome to check my playlists: https://open.spotify.com/user/11162243843
Still, if it comes to bands I would say my favorites are: Marina and the Diamonds, Bastille, MO, Kesha, Marilyn Manson, Rihanna, Fletcher, Alvaro Soler, Sheppard, Sia, Anohni

I really love animation movies, my favorites are How to Train Your Dragon, Zootropolis/Zootopia, Hotel Transylvania, Wreck it Ralph, Sausage Party. I also enjoy more serious stuff, Xavier Dolan is my absolute favorit director. The movies I enjoyed the most (or changed how I think and see things) are: Laurence, anyways;I Killed my Mother, Silence, Sunshine, Prayers for Bobby, The Holy Mountain, Interstellar.
I do enjoy watching serious, especially when I should be studying instead, the ones the I binge-watched where: Parks and Recreation, The Man in the High Castle, Aranyélet (This is a Hungarian one, pretty good), Desperate Housewives, Looking

My favorit author is Umberto Eco, so far I loved all of his books which I have read. But I also love works by other writers: S.N.U.F.F by Pelevin, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Vanity Fair by Thackeray, Lolita by Nabokov, Journey by Moonlight by Antal Szerb.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really proud thattwo of my short stories were chosen and published in an anthology of short stories written by young writers. It's maybe not as exciting as climbing up the Mount Everest, but I'm really proud of this.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Hungarian: unique and useless!
Also since I'm a landscape architect I know plants pretty well, so I can help you with your garden, giving advice on how to nurture your plants, or what species to plant.
I also love photo editing, so feel free to ask for help.
I'm a slow and a bit messy, but otherwise good cook, so if you are interested in vegetarian cuisine, I can show you some dished and tricks.
