About Me

One of my favorite Japanese proverbs goes something like, "A frog in a well knows nothing of the great ocean."

This is why I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. My curiosity for the great ocean is immense. This is why I have decided to start using CS. In the next couple of years I plan to travel the world. Before I do that, I'd like to help out other people with the same open-mindedness. You can say I'm a believer in karma. You get what you give.

In my free time I enjoy a good cup of coffee and a good novel. (See below a list of my favorite books.) I am always looking for something new to read. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I also like extreme sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, and I have recently got into indoor rock climbing. Whenever I have free time in the evening, I enjoy going to one of my three favorite art museums (MFA, ICA, Isabella Gardner) and contemplating the meaning of life. There are others. If you enjoy looking at art I'd be more than happy to recommend a few others.

I enjoy going to see a good film or catch a live music performance. Boston has good variety of music venues where you can usually catch something decent on almost any night of the week. I recently saw this band from Canada called July Talk (rock) and they blew me away. A favorite recent film has been La La Land with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. If you haven't seen it yet, I would recommend it.

I am currently living into a two bedroom apartment in Brighton. I have one roommate. We are both recent university graduates who work full time. We have a fairly big living room with a futon couch large enough for two. The only thing is he has 3 ferrets. Their cage is also in the living room. So if you're allergic to animal fur or don't like the smell of ferrets I'd advise you not requesting to stay.

You are welcome to use anything in the living room, kitchen and bathroom as long as you're respectful. We are both fairly clean people and we expect you to clean up after yourself. You can use our refrigerator if needed. We enjoy our privacy just as I'm sure you enjoy yours. For that reason both of our rooms will be off limits during your stay. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Thank you.

I currently work quite a bit so I will be limited to the days of the week I will be able to host. . However if you're really in a need to crash for a night or two, I'll do my best to help out. I apologize for taking a long time to respond to requests in advance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The past three years I have repeatedly crashed on other people's couches whenever I traveled to the West Coast (San Francisco, Portland, Seattle). Some were my friends, others were people I met while traveling, who became friends.

In the next couple of years I plan on traveling even more extensively. On my list of countries to visit are: Iceland, Japan, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany, France, and long list of Eastern European countries. Before I do that, I wanted to host as many people from all over as possible so that I can have a chance to learn something new from them about traveling and part of the world that they are from. I believe that one can learn many important lessons when one travels and keeps and open-minded attitude.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past summer my friend and I took a 3 month long road trip from the East Coast to the West Coast and up into Canada. We ended up quitting our jobs halfway through our road trip and found work along the way to finance the rest of our trip.
