About Me
My friends would say that I am an open, friendly and very tolerant person who is always up for something new and unusual. But at the same time, they have to force me to get out of the bed in the morning in order not to miss all the amazing things the day has to offer ;)
A few years ago, I started my studies in Leipzig, Germany to become a teacher. In 2012, I moved to Leeds to study at uni. This was my first experience abroad and - so far - the best thing that happened to me in my life. At the moment, I work as an assistant teacher in the beautiful (*cough*) city of Paisley, Scotland. These experiences helped me to understand people with different backgrounds a lot better than before and to demolish barriers of prejudices.
I don't like being a tourist when traveling and would love to make use of the opportunities that come with a local as host!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet new people and get to know their perspective on life and their city.
Interests
When I moved to England, I discovered swing dancing for me, which I loved from the first lesson. In contrast to standard dance, you can combine elements more freely and have a lot of fun on the dance floor (even if you forget all advanced steps, you can still move around like you had a clue...).
But my true love is languages: My teacher's degree is based on English and Latin, and I learned French and Japanese in school. Languages are just fascinating, living entities which appeared to me to be more logical than maths... And not forgetting the culture attached to language and the people you can meet (esp. on a semester abroad) to experience this culture, putting them in relation to your own etc
I can develop interest for a lot of new things, like lately, Chinese food :)

Music, Movies, and Books
everything, anywhere, especially Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe, Catullus, Tim Burton, Maggie Smith, Emma Thompson, Yuki Kajiura, Kimbra, Ellie Goulding and all the other wonderful people and works I cannot remember right now, because my mind is often like a sieve... :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know, that's cliché, but the moment on the Eiffel Tower at night, seeing all the lights illuminating Paris and your heart, you feel sooo content and happy that you forget about all your problems and are left behind awestruck, feeling small in relation to the world, but growing taller than ever...
Cities at night are the best experiences anyway (if you are not so much into hiking or climbing up inhospitable mountains...).
