About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To follow my heart and do what I love - aka spend as much time travelling and seeing the world as possible!!!

ABOUT ME

I am a 22 year old from England who, having travelled around China and south east asia on my gap year in 2013/14, cannot get enough of travelling. I study medicine and have just finished my second year which was intense but fantastic. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go to South Korea as part of a summer school program funded by my home university (University of Sheffield). This summer I went to Peru and spent some time volunteering in an orphanage in Cusco before hitting the road and seeing some of Peru's delightful landscapes.

I am a social and active person, always willing to go out and do new and interesting things. I work hard and like to think I'm fairly (but not too) tidy and organised. I get on well with most and always look for the best in people. I love meeting new people and I think making new friends is a wonderful thing that we should all cherish!

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard play hard.
Enjoy every moment of life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know have a house in Sheffield living with my university friends, we are a house of 6 and I have space on my floor. Me and my friends are fairly willing to host but are all extremely busy studying most of the time (we are all medical students!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only experience of couchsurfing so far has been in Taiwan where I surfed twice (and another time with a friend of a previous couchsurfer in Taipei)! I have always had the most wonderful experience couchsurfing and never had the slightest hint of a problem. I am still in good contact with the friend I stayed with in Taipei.

Interests

I love science (especially the human body) and I am also interested in a range of sports (though in particular rugby, football and table tennis). I also like philosophy if anyone wants to talk about that (I studied it at A level). I am really interested in learning about culture and I am also very very keen to learn more 普通话 (mandarin) which I have just started learning since late August 2013. I really like to experience new, unusual and fantastic things... basically I love travelling!

I am now in my 3rd year at medical school and absolutely loving what I do. The only thing is I don't get much time off so whenever I'm free I try and hit the road, get on a plane and have a new adventure!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love sci-fi and fantasy everything!
I have to admit my music taste is fairly mainstream with top chart music as the normal stuff I listen too. I am however starting to get a flavour of some more traditional Chinese music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo travelled through China when I was 18.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you many many things about the human body and medicine! If you want to learn about English and Chinese culture I'm your guy! And if you want to hear some stories I've got a few up my sleeve!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Croatia, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In

China
