ABOUT ME
So...We built a tiny house and now live full time in 204 square feet. As you can imagine, space for hosting isn't plentiful but depending on the time of year and your willingness to pitch a tent...:)
We will Update this section below before the end of the year (2016) to better explain our situation. Until then, Check out our website (https://shedsistence.com/) that tells a lot about us, the design and construction of our tiny house and what we have been up to since moving in full time!
Young, energetic, adventurous, curious, spontaneous!
We are a young couple who met 11 years ago and have been connected at the heart ever since. We have since completed our masters degrees in Architecture(Robert) and Nursing (Samantha). Samantha is working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Robert as an Architect. Academics by choice, we are outdoor enthusiasts and travelers by nature. We spend our free time snowboarding, hiking and backpacking mostly in the Adirondacks of the North Eastern United States.
We spent the month of July, 2008 driving around the United States. 10,000 miles, 25 states and 13 National Parks later we are thoroughly hooked by the travel bug. In the Spring of 2010 we completed our first over seas tour, spending the month of May backpacking around Europe; 9 countries, 20 cities, 7 currencies and and more good wine, beer and food then we could keep track of! In the mean time we often find shorter and more spontaneous trips when time allows to keep the travel bug satisfied.
We are getting married In October, 2012 and shortly there after leaving all that is familiar to relocate somewhere new (we havn't decided where yet). Part of this life changing experience will include a 6 week trekking/backpacking excursion to Argentinian and Chilean Patagonia so if you have advice/suggestions/knowledge of this part of South America please share!
We are both vegetarians!
PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We feel that the real benefit of the CS community comes when you visit a new place, and are welcomed like an old friend. The local perspective you receive can shape and enhance your experience beyond all expectations...throw your tour guide book in the garbage.
As for hosting people from all over the world...Its like traveling with-out leaving your own city!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted MUCH more than we have surfed, with sort a sort of “pay-it-forward” mentality that will lead to welcoming strangers when we travel in the future.
Interests
Snowboarding, skateboarding, soccer, backpacking, hiking, biking, coffee, people watching, unique experiences of any kind, waterfalls, cliffs, adrenaline, photography, architecture, mountains, oceans, meeting new people, learning new things, seeing new places. I think it is easier to say that there is very little that doesn't interest us... its the curiosity that keeps life interesting

Into the wild - By John Krakauer

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
sky diving was awesome!
Really any experience that occurs while traveling. Each turn is unfamiliar, each face is new.
Teach, Learn, Share
Robert's academic experience while completing his Masters of Architecture manifests itself in an acute appreciation for all things large and small in the built environment and nature alike, even the miraculous experience of being amidst decaying urban/man-made environments; permanence is unachievable.
Samantha’s completion of her Masters of Nursing has only emphasized the loving and considerate mentality she has always had, caring for and putting others before herself, both animal and human.
While not tangible “lessons”, these brief phrases represent how we live and we like to think these characteristics will rub off on those around us in a sort of “lead by example” model.
