About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Back in the UK. Learning French. Perfecting poached eggs.

ABOUT ME

I am a doctor from the UK. I very much like to travel and have been fortunate to visit and work in a number of interesting places around the world including the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic

In my spare time (which isn't so much anymore) I like to make electronic music.

I love to meet people of all types and backgrounds and couch surfing seems a great way to do this!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been taken in a couple of times by total strangers when desperately lost hitchhiking across europe. These guys were some of the kindest and most trusting I've ever met and wow did they feed me well!

Couch surfed with some great people and am very grateful for their hospitality! I have not yet hosted, mainly due to living in isolated places but hope to do so at some point.

Interests

Making music, making tasty food, taking photos, partying, surfing (badly)...

Learning about the world: through first hand experience or, if that's not available, through reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music...I spend a lot of time listening to and discovering music. Trying to build an awesome record collection... Jazz, Soul, Electronic, Hip Hop, Minimal Techno, African, The Beatles...anything honest or experimental. I love discovering something I've never heard before.

Books... Great novels, old and new; I also read quite a lot of non fiction, especially related to global health, politics or science.

Films... 2001; Apocalypse Now; The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 2 months working in a refugee hospital on the Thai-Burmesse border. It was intense but very rewarding and educational.

Also: Afrika Burn. I never thought a festival could be so inspiring.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make some classic cocktails. Daiquiri is my specialty.

I'd like you to teach me French!
