Overview
About Me
I just moved to Changhua county at the start of August to teach English with the Fulbright program. I'll be living here for the next year until about July. Before I leave, I'll be trying to explore every inch of this island, tasting all the food I come across, drinking all the bubble tea I can find, and checking out local culture along the way. That is, on the weekends, when I can leave the classrooom.
Last year I lived in India to study Hindi. I've grown a lot since the beginning of that journey and hope to keep growing this year. I'm all about self improvement, so I am always trying to learn new things. Recently, I started on the guitar. I'm not very good yet, but I'm not shy so I'm always down for a sing along.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m trying to get as authentic an experience as possible so I can see how it is to really live somewhere and meet a lot of new friends along the way! It's always nicest to see a new unfamiliar place through the eyes of a local.
Interests
I like acroyoga (I'm at about an intermediate level) and usually travel with a slack line. I like to hike and take in nature, have conversations with new people, hang out at the beach or in town, and sometimes go clubbing at night.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: David Mitchell, Haruki Murakami, Jorge Luis Borges, Douglas Adams, and George R R Martin are probably my favorite authors of all time. I really like magical realism, fantasy, and sci fi.
Movies: I like everything by Studio Ghibli and Wes Anderson. Your name is probably my favorite right now. I also love Moonlight and Precious.
Music: Reggaeton is what I listen to when I work out or drink- otherwise it’s usually rock, indie rock, or alternative. Shakira is bae, although I just discovered Troye Sivan a few days ago and have been on a serious binge.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in India with my best friend last year studying Hindi - I'm almost fluent now (advanced high :D), but even though I learned to cook a lot of delicious food last year, I'm still looking for the perfect recipe for restaurant style curry.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: English, German, Math, Hindi, Guitar, How to make doughnuts
Learn: Spanish, Mandarin, Making restaurant style curry
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love having conversations about politics (especially US, Europe, and South Asian), philosophy, books, tv shows, and pop culture.
I can also share some basic acro moves with you! Or if you already know some we could jam together. It can be so hard to find people to practice with when away from home.
