ABOUT ME

I am a 24 year old Australian guy living in my hometown of Sydney. I love making music, yoga, good food and wine and partying and hanging out with my friends. I also love travelling and getting to know new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that things happen for a reason, that you should treat others the way you want to be treated, and what you put into the universe comes back threefold. Be the best person you can be and take it from there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an experienced Surfer from my travels, and I have hosted a number of travellers in Sydney, Australia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in 9 countries over 4 continents on my world tour and stayed with a bunch of lovely hosts along the way, all who showed me their cities and spent time with me, becoming not just hosts but also good friends.
I've hosted a couple of people since returning home and had great experiences with all of them.

READ ABOUT MY COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCES

I'm currently in the process of writing a blog about my 2013 world tour. I've nearly finished, but so far I've written over 100 posts, many of which are recounting the overwhelmingly positive experiences I had with Couchsurfing hosts during my travels. Check it out if you have some time and feel like having a read:

Interests

I'm a very open-minded person, and I love to meet new people and learn about their own interests. As a sociologist, people in general are part of my interests.
But I also love anything creative: music, art, books, poetry, TV, film - anything creative really gets me going. I'm more passionate about some than others, but I think creative outlets are so important.
For me, that also extends to body part and tattoos. I currently have 12 tattoos and the number is set to grow.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty open to anything, but I do have a secret soft spot power-pop/punk and a variety of emo bands. As a musician I will give anything and everything a listen and can appreciate all styles of music. If you're travelling with an instrument, or if you play or sing anything at all, lets jam!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled the Trans-Siberian Railway! It was an amazing experience and really pushed me to my limits as a traveller, but I had such fun while doing it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied sociology in university which is essentially the business of analysing people, and I love to share my insights, philosophies and theories about the world, and I also love to hear the views of others.
I'm the of guy who you'd want around in the middle of an existential crisis because I love to sit and talk and contemplate the universe, and I'm a very good listener.
I'm a musician - I can play guitar, ukulele and the drums, although I currently only own the first two. If you're learning I'm happy to help teach, or if you play I would love to make some music with you!
I'm also a really good drinking buddy, if that's something that appeals to you.

Other than that, I've garnered a lot of travel experience over the past year so I can share some of my stories and experiences about places I've been and things I've done.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I stayed with a lot of amazing hosts when I was backpacking so I like to pay it forward when I can. At the very least I can offer you a place to rest your weary head, but I also like to go out and show people the nightlife - as a gay guy I know Oxford St like the back of my hand.
