About Me

I have had an interesting journey. Right out of high school I dedicated my time to working hard and climbing that corporate ladder, which I did, but hat led me to pursue my entrepreneurial passion and got into real estate and mortgage. As the market crashed, so did I! It was a dark point in my life, but when I hit rock bottom, I was able to get back up, enroll in school, and I continue to thrive.

So I am an open-minded individual that loves enjoying what life has to offer. Every experience is an opportunity to learn and make future experiences worthwhile. My sexual orientation is fluid, but if you were looking at the spectrum of straight to gay, I'd be about over the midpoint to the right-leaning towards gay. But my needle on the scale moves, haha.

I love to listen to others and share my own experiences. I can appreciate a debate on anything because I know we all have differences of opinion and beliefs and I admire that. I debate to learn not to win.

I'm Latino and White, but grew up with the Latino (Mexican) side of my family even though my DNA results show I am mostly European ~ go figure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Originally created this as I was looking for a host as I was traveling to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention as an At-Large Delegate for Bernie Sanders. Now, I am traveling to Europe for the first time and have a feeling that I will be traveling more often.

More importantly, I am on Couchsurfing because I like to meet people from all over the world, and on occasion, some out of this world, haha.

I live in the East Bay Area, about 30 minutes from San Francisco, so open to sharing my space as well when I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh boy... this question. Pretty much an eclectic taste of music (I love remixed 80's and 90's music though. Always brings me back), lately I've been listening to French Pop and Latino Pop, been reading a lot of books on social justice these last two years, and love a good drama series, but open to movie night anytime :).

Last movies seen: Wonder Woman, Get Out, Hidden Figures, Moonlight
Last TV Series seen: House of Cards, Orange is the New Black
Current book I'm reading: Fundraising for Social Change, Kim Klein

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a Caribbean cruise hitting all of the great spots such as Belíz, Honduras, Cozumel, and Cancun. Amazing! It was a Halloween cruise, there were four of us, and we were pimps. Was an amazing time! Oh, I just got back from my first backpacking trip and my first time to Europe. Had an amazing time in Amsterdam, Cologne, Paris, and Barcelona. They each had their own unique cultures and amazing sites. By far my best holiday ever with the best people in each city. Cannot wait to go back again. Anyone up for a European trip?

Oh yeah, forgot about the time I hung out with Rosario Dawson, Susan Sarandon, Kendrick Sampson and Shailene Woodly for a week. We were all Delegates for Bernie Sanders.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Everyone has their own narrative and their own purpose, don't automatically assume you know what it is, let them tell it. (I can teach you about cultivating relationships)

Learn: Learn from one another regardless of their flaws, their background, their skin color, or even their choice in wine, haha. (I'd like to learn about culture in other countries)

Share: Share a piece of you with everyone you come into contact then you will carry on wherever they go. (I will share the little space I have and my time when I'm not working)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation, home cooking, some great sight-seeing, a safe place to sleep on a comfortable bed or okay futon, and a drink.
