ABOUT ME
I've recently come to terms with the fact that my greatest desire for the time being is to make things and use my hands. When I can't focus, I daydream about my career in luthiery, what sort of clay vessel I could be making on the wheel, how great it will feel to finish my treehouse (currently underway back in Oregon), how much I would like to make a wooden sailboat, or about what a great berry harvest I will reap come summer.
I love writing, and probably my greatest joy is to hear or tell a great story. I think that the more you can imagine other people's lives, the more deeply understanding of a person you can be. And, in a way, spinning a tale is a craft as satisfying and tangible as all the hand crafts I've already confessed to dream of. So, I can't wait to hear your stories!

Teach, Learn, Share
Really, I want to learn everything that you have to offer me. The things that I wouldn't know to put in the box are the things I most hope to learn. Maybe my most important ambition now is to become a versatile and practical cook. You can become friends with anyone over a meal that you've cooked for them.
As for teaching, I'm just a grab bag of unrealized tidbits. I can show you what I know about the banjo, I can help with planning your future tree house, and I can talk forever about hiking and camping. Perhaps I know more about backpacking than anything, but we can't bring a couch with us when we backpack can we?
