About Me

BEFORE WRITING A REQUEST...

Make sure to read my profile carefully, specially the information on "My Home". Part of it is mentioning and reading my partner's profile.

CURRENT MISSION

Take advantage of each second of this weird thing called live.

ABOUT ME

I like exploring and change. I like to be aware of the world problems, and to collaborate on projects where I can meet interesting people. Live is once and I like to make the most of it. I love science and I am, at least, Byte of a geek. But no worries, my interests in science are broad, I enjoy any field. I love interesting conversations, or when somebody takes the time to teach me something of their work.

Here are my blogs where I, sometimes, write on but, more often, I forget they exist: http://robertour.com/, South America: http://robertour-sudamerica.blogspot.com/, Things and thinks: http://diario-robertour.blogspot.com/, Brazil: http://robertourbrazil.blogspot.com/, Guatemala: http://robertour.blogspot.com/

PHILOSOPHY

Live is an universal instant of order in which we are conscious of our own existence. It is such a unique experience that it would be a shame not to make the most of it.

"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration—that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather." Bill Hicks

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been more than one year in CouchSurfing. It has been an incredible experience. I travelled through South America during 2011 and I surfed a lot. I regularly participated in the CS meetings and activities in London, Ontario, Canada. Now, I am travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have already collected a few stories with CS but when I look back and try to put them together, it is a large path.

Interests

To travel, to cycle, to read, to LEARN, to explore, to try, to try again, to enjoy, to LIVE, change...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Yes
Movie: Amelie
Book: The little prince

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have both, walked and hike, from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific of Costa Rica. Fair enough, Costa Rica is tiny but it took me 7 days by bike and 21 walking. Oh, I did the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my time to talk about anything. I can share my life history. I also know how to dance salsa, not very well but enough for teaching some.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hosts are welcomed and encouraged to sort themselves. They can use our kitchen if they prefer to cook for ourselves. I can let them know alternative options in town to hang out at night. Usually I don't have a lot of time, but it is always fun to meet other ppl's stories.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
