About Me
!!! We are currently hosting a rescue cat and her 4 kittens in our living room (which is where surfers would stay). As a result, we won't be able to host for a yet unspecified amount of time !!!
Hi! I'm a Dutch Psychology student living the London life. I'm so thrilled that Covid is on its way down and we can travel again 🤩
*** PLEASE READ MY HOME SECTION THOROUGHLY ***
I will only host people who:
- Read my whole profile
- Have verified accounts
- Have surfer and/or host references
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
AS A SURFER
Aren't hotels the most boring thing ever? You arrive at your room after roaming the streets by yourself. You're alone. Broke, because of the ridiculous prices. You sit on the edge of your bed at night, contemplating your life and every decision you've ever made. You try to find comfort in one of the three free tv channels in a foreign language. Your thirsty ass grabs a €12 coke from the minibar. And you cry. Oh Lord, how you'll cry.
Then there is Couchsurfing. Embracing you. Welcoming you to the life of locals. Togetherness. Exchanging favors and having fun. Enabling you to buy your coke at the supermarket like a sane person. But honestly, it's loving and being loved. I never felt at home at home, but I sure do when someone invites me to theirs. You might think I'm exaggerating, but am I really?
AS A HOST
As you may have noticed, I have no experience hosting yet. I tried though, before leaving. But no one would ever visit my tiny boring home town.
But now that I live with friendly flat mates in a nice house in London, I can't wait to welcome my first surfer!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a pretty wide music taste. I like my rock, blues, metal, jazz, classical and hiphop. The only genre I really can't stand is hardcore. I love spinning vinyl records, that's when music really comes alive!
I like to read about music, countries, space, history, psychology and philosophy. I'm currently reading Buddhism Without Believes and the Happiness Hypothesis. Not huge on fiction although the Dune series really got to me!
I'm pretty easy movie wise, I just don't enjoy horror movies as they tend to get repetitive to me. My favourite movies are LOTR, The Blues Brothers, V For Vendetta and the true masterpiece that is The Big Lebowski.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Leaving my home town. Never felt so alive!
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn about your greatest passion. Cheesy? Perhaps. True? For sure. Nothing sparks my interests like someone who's truly passionate about something. Doesn't matter what it is. If you live it, I'm on board!
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a Dutch guy, I can be very useful when you're trying to buy cheese, clogs or tulips! I can also roll pretty much anything into a cone shape, even though I don't smoke. Guess we're born with that gift.
But of course I'll help out with any cleaning or chore you need me do! I'm a clean and organised guy, I even had a short career as a cleaner so leave it all to me :) I'm also a decent chef with basic knowledge of a range of cuisines, so I can cook for you or we can do it together!
And most importantly; I'll be a good guest. I will respect your privacy, leave you alone if you need it and will hangout and talk when you're ready for me! It may seem obvious, but I've heard stories that prove quite the opposite sadly.
I'm happy to stay with someone who's busy and wants me to do my own thing. But ultimately to me Couchsurfing is all about that community vibe. Eating together, exploring together, laughing together, all that!
