About Me
Hallo!
I am a 21 years old person who's been living in Amsterdam for a few years. I came here with the intention to study philosophy and become a renowned film maker, but I soon trailed off this path. After having tried two different studies, anthropology and carpeting (both equally great), I have come to the conclusion that I'm not fit for the modern day school system. Now I'm trying to figure out a way of living that gives my versatile interests and personality enough space to develop in a satisfying way. So yeah.
I think I'm a peaceful, relaxed and caring dude who doesn't take himself very serious. More a listener than a talker, but as the sun sets and wine, beer or whisky get flowing i become more comfortable with my own voice. I'm open minded, but also shy. Altough, if we spend some time together I am sure we'll have some wonderful, funny or just absurd conversations. Anyway, I would love to meet all of you, fellow strangers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As an experiment. I would love to travel the world, but the time didn't feel right before. Now I'm preparing to leave this country and start wandering. But first, I would love to welcome travelers into my home and meet all you crazy bastards who left theirs. Hopefully I will learn a thing or two about being a nomad or anything else my guests can teach me. There are just so many wonderful people on this planet, and for me this is the first step; opening my door to all of you. One day I hope to be welcomed in other countries, when it's my turn to be lost in the world.
Music, Movies, and Books
I've read almost all of Haruki Murakami's books, but besides that almost nothing else. The only other book that I love is 'The steppenwolf' from Herman Hesse.
The last movie I've seen that I really liked was 'Taxi Teheran.' I dig most proper films, but hate horror.
Music is one of the greatest pleasures in my life, so you can find me listening to almost anything. Really; anything. My favorite song atm is 'Nissim' by The Gaslamp Killers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once slept for twenty two hours, so that's pretty impressive.
Teach, Learn, Share
Philosophical or anthropological ways of thinking is one of the few things on which I have some knowledge, but not enough to teach. I'd rather have open conversations instead of a teacher-learner relation, in which we share in an organic manner our insights in the physical or abstract world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My deep insights into the human psyche. Or some jokes. I don't have a particular skill in which I'm confident enough to teach, but I'm a great listener and will always care for those who are willing to share their thoughts. And obviously I can share my knowledge of the dutch and their language.
