About Me
Hi there! 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️
I am Robin, living in Utrecht, together with my girlfriend Tinka.
We both love to go out, get into an adventure, explore the world, do something creative, new and crazy, but also have a quieter side, where we like to take the time to have deep conversations, connect with new people or just have some me-time.
After many travels during our sabbatical we have generously experienced the hospitality of the Couchsurfing community and specifically the many hosts around the world.
Back home now, we are determined to keep an eye out for surfers in need for accommodation, advice & company, though with our full agendas we don't always find the moment.
Anyway, feel free to send a hosting request or ask for some tips. We would love to hear about who you are and what your plans are!
Currently going on in our lives:
🌱 growing many peppers and cucumbers on our balcony
🇪🇸 trying to keep up with Spanish practice after our travels in Central America
🤷♀️ Tinka looking for a new job
📸 still working on a photobook showcasing all the travels during our sabbatical
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people from different places around the world

Music, Movies, and Books
Very interested to read about the mind and human behaviour. For example I read great books about happiness, social epidemics, introversion, empathy and negativity bias.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taking the decision to stop working and have a sabbatical before my 30th. And besides that some cool travel adventures:
✅ Working a night on a Taiwanese night market.
✅ Walking 1000km on the Camino del Norte to Santiago.
✅ Talking my way into the Chiang Mai University and convincing them that they should schedule me for a guest lecture.
✅ Doing a 10-day Buddhist retreat in India.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good time together!
I mean, I could promise a lot of things here. Cooking for you, bringing a lot of presents and all. And I will do that if it feels right.
But I notice that what people appreciate the most is just spending time together. Being a good conversation partner, being curious, listening and sharing stories from my own travels. So first and foremost I will focus on that!
Countries I’ve Visited
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Guatemala, India, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
