About Me

I’m a curious traveler who loves exploring new places not just for the sights but for the people and stories behind them. I believe the world is full of warm-hearted people, and traveling is my way to experience that firsthand. When I’m not out hiking a trail or planning my next adventure, you’ll probably find me with a coffee in hand or a book open way too late at night. I just graduated with a master's degree and want to explore the world until April 2026 before I settle again. I am really excited for all Couchsurfing experiences from September to November 2025 during my travels through Northern and Western Africa. After that, I want to fully commit to hosting people from around the world and give back generously to whoever I cross my path with (including, but not exclusively Couchsurfers)!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe traveling is about people, not just places. For me it’s a way to experience kindness and openness across cultures, and to prove to myself that the world is full of warm-hearted people. I’d much rather share stories over a coffee with a host than stay in a hotel and miss out on that connection. Moreover, I believe that solo-traveling does not necessarily need to be lonely if you can spend time with other people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books are my constant travel companions — I’d never leave without one, or at least my Kindle. I mostly read non-fiction, especially about psychology, mindfulness, and the ways we deal with challenges and emotions in everyday life. Every now and then I dive into classics too, and I really enjoy dystopian novels like 1984 and Animal Farm. Some of my absolute favorites are The Courage to Be Disliked, Amy Morin’s 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do, and Matthew Walker’s Why We Sleep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After graduating high school I wasn’t sure what to do, so I quit my part-time job to avoid staying stuck in my comfort zone. That decision led me to apply for a cruise ship job, and at 18 I suddenly found myself in Southeast Asia, working long days and discovering an entirely new world. It was tough at times, but the people I met and the places I saw made it one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can share some of my language skills, a few cooking tricks I’ve picked up, and even some running or stretching exercises that I use in my own training.

Learn: I’m always curious about culture, daily life, and the small details that make each place and person unique. I’d also love to learn the basics of reading or speaking different languages wherever I travel. Moreover, I‘d love to learn more about your local cuisine and how to cook its dishes properly.

Share: I enjoy exchanging travel stories and having good conversations over coffee. I can also share a bit about German culture as well as Irish culture, since I was recently living in Ireland for my master's, and of course I’m always happy to lend a hand around the house.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I bring plenty of stories, global perspectives, and an open heart for cultural exchange. I love meaningful conversations — whether it’s about politics, science, psychology, or the ups and downs of traveling through almost 40 countries. I can also share insights from my work in consulting, how I’ve organized my travels, and some of the lessons I’ve picked up along the way. At the moment I don’t have my own place since I moved to Ireland and sold most of my things to fund my studies, but once I’m settled again (probably in Cologne, Germany) I’d be very happy to host people and show them parts of the country that go beyond the usual touristic destinations Berlin and Munich.
