About Me

I used to travel a lot when I was younger (lol) and always prefered deep-diving into culture and community over just stepping by to check a city or country on my list. After "starting a new life" a little too often, I lost a little bit the urge of changing my surrounding all the time and was longing for more stability. So I moved into a sweet shared appartment in Berlin, got a real job (I am a social worker in a refugee camp atm) and I also got more involved with politics and I felt like the country where I grew up is the best place where I can have a political impact. I am engaged in struggles for climate justice and freedom of movement.
I love to sing and I write songs and perform them as a singer/songwriter. I also sing in a wonderful choir and love to make music with other people. Sometimes I forget that doing sports also makes me very happy, but actually, I really like to move. In summer i did a climbing course and I play volleyball. And I looove to dance (with choreography, couple-dance or just free movement :))
I get a lot of energy from interacting with people, discovering their world, I like trying new things and I am easy to please, meaning I am quickly happy about little things. As long as people approach me with an open mind and heart, I'm pretty sure we will have a good time :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to couchsurf more often a few years ago, but I lost the data to log in, so I created a new profile, which was kind of sleeping till now, because I didn't travel much - but now I am reactivating it, because I have very concrete plans: In January/February, I want to travel to a place, where I can improve my russian, ideally taking a language course and at the same time spending time with people who will talk to me in russian and help me connect with the city. At the moment I am looking at Riga to stay there for 4 weeks and I would ideally stay with different people for as long as everyone feels comfortable and it fits their idea of couchsurfing. I am really curious to get a glimpse of your life, exchange experience and opinions, broaden each others view on the world, have a good time and then move on a little richer. If we really connect I am also happy about longer company in my life, but it's not what I expect.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have very wonderful friends who are like family to me
Just a few weeks ago my leg got sucked by an octopus (many happy hormones :D)
I have built and lived on tree houses
I don't want to list all the extraordinary things I have experienced in my life, would feel like showing off, and honestly, I don't think the magic lies in the extreme but in the ability of appreciating the little things in life

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very happy to share my music, in the shape of a concert, or singing togehter, teaching a little bit of guitar...
At the moment I am trying to learn more Russian (current level about A2)
Just daily life stuff, I can share stories about some unconventional models of living, like living in a functional flat (where there are no private rooms but every room is shared with everyone); living in occupied forests and villages; having a shared economy (so I dont have my own money but share everything with a group of friends);
at the same time we can exchange our cooking (not!) skills, you show me your favourite route to go for a walk, or show me a place where I can buy cheap winter clothes because I am already freezing when I think about being in Riga in January :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

my thoughts, my experience, my questions, my ears
