About Me

I try to be as open-minded, accepting and loving as possible and I feel like traveling is a great way to change your perspective on things in a very positive way. I like to meet new people, see new places, hear other people's stories and explore new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is great to learn about other countries' cultures and meet heaps of amazing people. Although I've only hosted and stayed with other people a few times, I'd love to do it more often.

Interests

I'm currently in the last phase of my study (film, media and culture) and I work as an editor for some online publications. Therefor, I love to write (and read!). Besides that I have a passion for arthouse films and documentaries. I love music and try to go to festivals as often as possible. When I'm not working or studying I like to be outside in nature (although the Dutch weather isn't always the best to do so), travel, read books, or draw/paint.

Music, Movies, and Books

This list could go on for ever, but I'll try to keep it short.

I enjoy a lot of different music genres, but I love bands such as Wolf Alice, Diiv, Arctic Monkeys, Surfer Blood, The Strokes, Drowners, The Smiths, The War on Drugs, Together Pangea, Fidlar, Hinds, etc. And Lana del Rey.

My favorite movies are probably Donnie Darko, Palo Alto, Almost Famous, Electrick Children, Spirited Away, Submarine, The Breakfast Club, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, Moonrise Kingdom, The Wolfpack, Into the Wild, Where the Wild Things Are.

When it comes to books, I love the classics (like Lolita, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, etc.). But I think my favorite book of all time would be Hear the Wind Sing/Pinball, 1973 by Haruki Murakami.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell you all about the countries I've been to, the people I've met and the things that I've seen. I can cook you a meal (I love love love food), teach you some Dutch words, braid your hair, make you a drawing, or tell you jokes that only I find funny.
