ABOUT ME

That's me on facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=757754255

As sad as it is, I finished my university and apparently have to start a serious life in a not too distant future. Until I accept that, I'm work&traveling the world!!

I started in November 2009 in Australia and planned to stay for 6 month. When I realized HOW big that country is I decided to extend my stay... so in the end I stayed for almost two years with a 1-month break visiting my family over christmas and stopping over in Dubai!

While traveling Australia I met Lena and we moved together (into one car :)) and been traveling together since!

Our plan right now is to travel further around Indonesia and South-East-Asia after that!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is great but you have to take part!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing members helped me not only with a bed and roof over my head but in all kind of different situations!

Interests

It might have been luck or just coincidence but in my life I've found so many interesting - and unplanned - things in cities and in the nature. I also love these small things, that are free and not really touristy. I once drove a detour for a couple hours just to see the longest hand-made tunnel in the southern hemisphere. I was completely alone (except for some big scary bats) and far away from any civilisation when I got there and drove through it a couple times at walking speed.... I loved it!! But I doubt many backpackers in Australia would have visited it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I just LOVE movies! All kind of movies, from Lynch to Lohan! Music is always connected to memories for me... I have a collection of Music from all over the world and listening to it always brings the memories back. If you have music thats connected to your country I would absolutely love to listen to it or copy/exchange some mp3's! Books is the most relaxing source of entertainment for me and there's not much better than lying on a secluded beach with an ice cold beer and a good book!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lying in the snow and watching the northern lights in Kiruna... seeing the sun set and rise at Ayer's Rock... finding 100USD under a roulette table in Las Vegas... feeding baby koalas while volunteering in the Australia Zoo... finding my way through tropical rainforest in Port Douglas... seeing the street I'm driving on turning into a river during the wet season in the Kimberleys... beeing the first one on a slope with a snowboard under my feet in the alps... seeing tuna jumping 4 meters high and snorkeling with dolphins, sharks, turtles and manta rays in raja ampat... and so much more!

Teach, Learn, Share

Lessons learned: When living in your car, check the grass around you for sprinkler systems and dont park under fruit trees. Never pay your parking tickets in countries you're leaving in a couple weeks. Spend the money for a good camera. Plan only that much that your plan still fits on a postit.
