About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Never postpone happiness.
ABOUT ME
I'm a curious and enthusiastic soul. Big plans. Idealistic. I love people and have a large network of friends. I like to philosophize as much as I like to get my hands dirty and sweat in the sun. I process my ideas verbally, and I have learned to be an excellent listener. Tree-hugger.
PHILOSOPHY
I feel it's important to assume a warm and friendly rapport with people from the first meeting of them, and to foster friendship and an unconditionally loving communal atmosphere wherever I go.
I live the life the way I do because it's so FUN. I love the intricacies of the natural world I'm constantly ensconced in, the beautiful peculiarities of people I see and meet everywhere, the unfathomable knowledge and wisdom to be attained in each moment, and best of all; the vibrancy of life's active, fear-crushing experiences, just BECKONING for us to take part in their ecstasy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to host people and events, and I love to travel to new faces!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Lincoln, NE; and Sitka, AK. These have all been with friends and family, but I'm excited to meet new people through this community!
I enjoy seeing life in a new place from a local's perspective. I like cooking with people, striking up conversations and philosophizing. Getting out, seeing the sights, and general mosey-ing have shown me some of the most enjoyable aspects of couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Le Petit Prince, Siddhartha, The Lord of the Rings, Lord of the Flies, Brave New World, Cormac McCarthy, Roald Dahl, John Steinbeck, etc.
Movies: Rushmore, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, The Graduate, Master and Commander, Star Wars, Alfred Hitchcock, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Coen Brothers, Stanley Kubrick, Paul Thomas Anderson, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I remember a time when I had backpacked up to Hoffer Lakes in the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon: I had awoken early and scaled up the shallow rock cliff that stood next to my campsite. The sun rose and flowed like a liquid into the valley, washed down the cliff onto me and drizzled onto the beautiful little lakes below me.
While backpacking around Mt. Rainier, WA on the Wonderland Trail, I camped at a gorgeous location by the name of Indian Bar. A simple cabin lodges intermittent hikers in the midst of this spectacular view of the surrounding peaks and the meadowed valley. A short hike leads to the wall-less "outhouse" which is really a throne that, when sat upon, presents you with a 250 degree view of pure mountain meadow glory, while a waterfall trickles softly behind you among the alpines.
Teach, Learn, Share
It's a good idea NOT to brush your teeth right after eating fruit, especially citrus fruit, as the acids in them soften your enamel. Rinse out your mouth with water postprandially, but wait at least an hour before brushing.
I'd like to learn some basic, practical, hands-on bike maintenance.
