ABOUT ME

I am 24 years old and currently work as a chef in a trendy restaurant in london. Through this Ive been getting more and more interested in food and want to get involved in altering our world dietary habits because the way we eat now (in the West and around the world) is totally unsustainable. So I want to learn much more about this global issue. Before this I was in art school in london and into the art scene vaguely looking for a career and before that I was reading International Politics and English Literature at Aberystwyth. I had an ambition to be an author of fiction and I would still like to focus properly again on that at some point in the future but before then I have to concentrate on substance over stlye, being over appearance.

PHILOSOPHY

Conservative about some things and liberal about others. Id like to become a global nomad but Im concerned about my own effects on my environment and about my societies effects and Id like to be part of a wider non radical change towards a greener way of life. Im probably a shallow green. Society for me is a complicated thing, I dont really consider myself british but I am. Id like to see Britain get closer to the European Union and Id like to live in another capital city o Europe apart from London one day. Thats the reason why Id like to have a more pan European citizenship and I think thats the kind of society Im talking about. I want to imporve my language skills from 0 to 80.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am totally new to couchsurfing and have a short term motive right now which is to find a floor to crash on in amsterdam next weekend! However I want to participate long term and give to t resource pool as well as take- I am based in London and will need to move house before I can accomodate really though. That will be in another 6 months to a year. In the intermitting time I want to do a bit of travelling myself and go through verification, so contributing to this sight and not just using the resources for free.

I am interested in the global food industry and in produce. I love fish. I love the sea and want to spend more time there. I like chilling out and running and having whole days off and a like reading. I like big airy ideas and having those conversations and Id like to develop the discipline to sit down and write essays like montaigne or orwell and Id like them to be good. I think Im getting there.
