About Me

Is this not the worst part of any profile? Who actually knows what to write about themselves without feeling like this is a job interview? Welp, here goes...

Recent graduate from the University of Nottingham; I studied Law but decided it's not really for me (great use of £30k debt) so at the moment I'm just figuring out what's next. I want to travel, live abroad for a while, meet as many different types of people in as many different places as possible, eat all the food the world has to offer and MAYBE settle down in an office in, say, 50yrs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world without needing to sell my kidneys! (Not that they'd fetch much anyway)

For real, I'm on here so that I can travel as much as possible, and see as much as possible, while I can. Meeting locals, staying with them, getting to know the place as they see it, is something you don't get in a hotel. I just want to meet interesting, open-minded people from across the world, different from myself, to talk to and learn from - and where better for that than here?

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite Music: meh, you dont wanna know

Favourite Movie(s): V for Vendetta (gets me fired up every time, VIVA LA REVOLUTION!) and Lord of the Rings

Favourite Books: too many to count but here's a few - 'Private Peaceful' 'Fight Club' 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' '1984' and the Gotrek and Felix Saga

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, in 2016 as part of a charitable challenge, raising £3000 for Hope For Children. Hands down best experience of my life, although summit night almost killed me - I watered the plant life with my tears no doubt. At the time it didn't feel amazing, in fact I remember standing at the very top, after a 7hr climb in pitch black, thinking about my tent, a thousand ft below (I'd forgotten on the way up that I'd still have to climb back down) but it definitely hit me like a ton of bricks a few hours later.

Pole pole ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got a head full of random facts from years of Quora/TV quiz shows, and I'm more than happy to rattle them off to anyone who'll listen. Beyond that, I'm a philosophy enthusiast so deep chats about the universe/life/other cliche topic are always available upon request

What I Can Share with Hosts

See above for the head full of random facts/life hacks/philosophical ramblings that I can provide. Beyond that, I'd say I was able to share with hosts some great company, a few drinks, I'm a good cook so I'm definitely down to whip up a storm in the kitchen (and perhaps swap some recipes). I'm also more than happy to help run a few errands/do chores etc. as thanks, and I am not a messy or rude person so we shouldn't have any problems

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cuba, France, Grenada, Jamaica, Spain, Tanzania, United States
