Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Robyn. I’m a curious little forest frolicker from Cape Town, South Africa. I’m constantly learning about new things whether that be reading, watching interviews on youtube, documentaries, or listening to podcasts. I’m learning how to speak Spanish at the moment as I will be moving to Spain later this year. I have an interest in personal development and I’m always looking for ways to expand my mind and grow. I absolutely love to be in nature and I spent a lot of time outdoors; walking, hiking or playing with my dogs. Besides that, I'm an easy-going, free-spirited person who loves music, meditation, and yoga. I enjoy meaningful conversations, I'm open-minded and always eager to learn about other people's perspectives and life philosophies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to connect with people from all over the globe. I want to open myself to new life experiences and immerse myself into different cultures. I'm travelling in September and looking for some lovely hosts who are willing to share their home with me for a few days while I travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's a bit too much to mention so I'll try to keep it short - Hozier, Florence and the Machine, London Grammar, Alice Phoebe Lou, John Mayer, Alanis Morisette, Queen, Bon Iver, Bruno Mars, Troye Sivan, Adele, Coldplay, James Bay, Matt Corby, The Lumineers, Daughter, Bob Marley, SYML, Alt j, and The xx.
For the last two years, I haven't watched a ton of movies so I'll mention one recent movie that I really love - which is none other than Bohemian Rhapsody, but most of the movies I really enjoy are old releases like - A series of unfortunate events, The Lord of the Rings, Ten things I hate about you, Mrs Doubtfire, Forest Gump, The Book Thief, Easy A, The Lion King (of course!) Nacho Libre (it's obvious :), The Holiday, Bridesmaids, Zoolander, Something about Mary, The proposal, World War Z, Warm Bodies (and other zombie movies ) That's it for now :)
My book list is quite extensive so I'll limit this one, I promise: Big Magic & Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, Quiet by Susan Cain, Beloved by Toni Morrison, The hungry tide by Amitav Ghosh, The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje, A new earth by Eckard Tolle, Tom's Midnight Garden by Phillipa Pearce, and the Big Friendly Giant by Roald Dahl.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've kayaked in the Atlantic ocean in Cape Town.
One thing that I'm proud of is that a couple of years ago I wrote a play and I managed to get a few friends to perform in front of a small audience. It was an amazing experience.
Perhaps this doesn't count, but I'll say it anyway- last year I quit my masters and now I'm living abroad in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I believe we all have something to teach as we have all have unique life journeys, stories and perspectives
Learn: In the same breath, we can learn something from anyone if we are looking through the lens of empathy over judgement
Share: I'm open to sharing my story and even a few songs, as I sing from time to time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a pescetarian and don't drink that much. I have absolutely no qualms with people who share a different diet to me, I'm open to connecting with open-minded people. I love music and sing from time to time; in the shower, and for some reason, whenever I go hiking.
