ABOUT ME

this year i graduated with a b.a. in indigenous environmental studies, i have been in school way too long but don't intend to leave, it seems, as i am going to teachers' college next year. thus, some voyaging is in order-- i like adventures and peaceful coffee drenched mornings and fresh air and saying hi to dogs and babies on the street---i write sometimes and like to sing and go get lost by myself, usually on foot or by bicycle although while in toronto i find a good streetcar ride totally invigorating.

i like silliness and try to incorporate it deeply into my life, always thinking of our dear friend erik schramek. it is in this spirit that my three pals (aviva, jane, sine) and i are embarking upon a hitchhiking tour of canada this summer-- we may just need to use your backyard to regroup!

but don't worry- we are quick with supper or a song, all quite adept with a broom and no stranger to dishes. we are great hosts and even better guests! we like to help out and are quiet, respectful, peaceful ones...we have tents and are friendly and easy going, we would love to hang out and meet other open minded people but we definitely respect your space as well.

stay on couches, offer mine when available... i have not had any couch surfers so far but would love some! come visit, it's sweet here and we go swimming every day....

Music, Movies, and Books

mmm... off the top of my head... i don't watch a lot of movies but i love koyaaniqatsi and its sequels...planet earth movies... i think they are my favourites. music, everything...gillian welch, tool, ali farka toure, the be good tanyas, sigur ros, godspeed you black emperor, cat power, helios, radiohead, parliament. books, right now i am reading tom robbins and D.H. Lawrence simultaneously, i love to read, everything and anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

once my friend steve and i bicycled through the lawn sprinklers at the art gallery with no clothes on at 2am.... try as i might i can't really of anything more amazing that i have done, or would have seen if i had been passing by right then.

well i guess i also saw my first meteor shower lastsummer, in new brunswick... it was so beautiful!! i can't believe I went 22 years without seeing one; the colours and clarity were incredible...

Teach, Learn, Share

i want to learn pottery, canning, and fire spinning.... man I think of like three news things every day though so that's just what was on my mind when I woke up I guess. I feel like I don't have all too many skills to offer... I'm a pretty wicked hula hooper though, and a good teacher... I'm also an awesome vegetarian cook... I LOVE cooking for crowds. if i stay on your couch you, your roommates and everyone else on your street will eat really well.
