About Me
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a farming town (that has now become a booming city) and then moved to Johannesburg. I have been living here for 7 years now. I love the city. I've been studying for years now. First I did an honours degree in theatre and then a masters in English lit, which I just finished this year. I am tired of University and am itching to travel. My boyfriend and I have decided to do an extensive tour of South America. We like the idea of the absolute foreignness of the place (and our Rands will get further there). We're hoping to travel for four months or more. My boyfriend, Ricky, is a journalist so he is going to cover some stories and hopefully make some cash along the way. I also do some writing so between us we're trying to fund our travels. I took a gap year before I started varsity and loved it! I worked in England, saved up and then traveled Europe. I found it such a fascinating, fun and freeing experience. I can't wait to start our travels!
PHILOSOPHY
I want to listen and understand - take things in. I want to never stop learning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment we have no couch to offer (we're leaving and have no house let alone a couch) but as soon as we get set up back in Johannesburg we would be really happy to participate.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like Salman Rushdie (though, because I did my dissertation on him, I can't read him any more), JM Coetzee, all Toni Morrison, Jonathan Safron Foer,
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently hiked the "Fish River Canyon". It is a 90 km epic trek through a canyon that could be on the moon - a dry, hard desert with a light green river running through it. We saw wild horses.
Teach, Learn, Share
I definitely relish a good debate. I am keen to learn anything new from quantum mechanics to juggling.
