About Me

Hola!

Como estas?

I'm Rochelle, an easy going, fun loving nomad originally from Sydney, Australia. I love being outdoors, the ocean, making new friends, learning about new cultures, exploring new cities, music, dancing and living a balanced healthy active lifestyle. This is my first couch surfing experience so please excuse my profile for having too much or too little information.

In 2016 I chose to leave my corporate job in real estate and bought a one way ticket to Mexico. Since then I have travelled from Mexico down to Chile, lived in Guatemala for 3 months, spent 10 months living and working in Melbourne and travelled for 3 months in South East Asia.

When I finally return home I want to open my home to fellow travellers like you are doing for me. If you would like to see photos of my travels please visit my Instagram. @rochelle_louise

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My next adventure is to find a job as a stewardess on a super yacht in Palma de Mallorca and travel through the Mediterranean whilst working.

I will be looking for temporary accommodation from anything from 1 week to 6 weeks or until I find a job. I understand that 6 weeks is a long time to have a guest living with you and I will be grateful if you can even offer just one week to help me out and I can move onto another couch surf or a hostel after that.

I can offer help with English, cooking, many travel stories, a gym buddy, an island adventure buddy and hopefully a lifelong friendship. I have also studied Spanish for a few months (can currently only speak in present tense, but hey you have to start somewhere right?) and would love to be able to practice whilst I am here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever done would be hiking Acatenango. Acatenango is a volcano in Antigua, Guatemala which I hiked and slept on at 3900m above sea level. Next to Acatenango is an active volcano called Fuego which you watch erupt all night. At 4am I got up and hiked to the summit to watch the sunrise while Fuego was erupting. Magical!
