About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go everywhere! see as much as I can while learning from different people, cultures and ways of living and trying to reach the best version of myself

PHILOSOPHY

Just a couple of my favorite sayings:
Don't let people tell you what it's going on in the world, go and see it by yourself
I'm the type of person who usually chooses to know the ugly truth rather than the pretty lie
Variety is the spice of life/En la variedad esta el gusto
Discussions/debates lead to knowledge

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet different type of people from all different backgrounds to widen my knowledge and the fun.
And as a way to get to know the locals and their ways of living while saving some money so I can travel more and longer

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By couchsurfing, hosting and joining some meet ups

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started using CS back in 2008. I have hosted, csurfed and met people through it.
So far so good, I find it very useful and a good way to meet like minded people and make travels easier.

Interests

I love sports, watching and playing them even though in the last years haven't done as much as I used to and would like to do. I'm mostly into football and tennis but appreciate and know a bit about a few other sports.

Who said food? Since I was a kid that I love cooking/gastronomy tv shows, and enjoy a lot talking about food, trying new dishes/ingredients and going out for dinner. I would try pretty much anything at least once (still talking about food :p).
Lately I'm becoming sort of a flexitarian (semi-vegetarian), so I still do eat meat but much less than I used to.

I'm really interested in society and the way "we" as human beings are living today and used to live. I'm convinced we could do much better than we are doing today.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love cinema, I kind of force myself to watch movies on a regular basis. I like realism on movies, not so much into fantasy genre I'd say. I like when I movie kept you thinking about it for days.
Some from my looong list of favorites:
Midnight express, Requiem for a dream, Memento, El secreto de sus ojos, Good Will Hunting, Matrix I, Tropa de elite 2, Incendies, 7even, Das Experiment, Oldboy, City of God...

My music taste is pretty random, I like 80' 90' pop/rock/grunge, electronic, some latin rock, even a bit of classic music but lately I just get stuck with songs more than bands or singers

I like reading non fiction books, travelblogs and news.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Jumping to a stage of a ferry at 8am on the Java Sea to sing Karaoke after everyone started screaming "mister, mister" and pointing at the stage as I was the only foreigner on board and due the lack of English songs (only 2-3 that I didn't even know), and Spanish songs ended up singing some random Indonesian song that I never heard before. Yes, everyone were laughing, including myself.

-Skydiving in NZ

-Doing a 3days boat tour on the rivers of Borneo to see the nature and the wild and semi-wild Orangutans

-Climbing the Mount Rinjani in Lombok island, Indonesia

-Walking up to Aguas calientes and Machu Picchu when I was 18 yo

-Entering with a couple of friends to some hot pools in Pai, Thailand at 5am after a night out, having the place to ourselves, enjoying the sunrise and the tranquillity. And to finishs it up at about 9am with a mud bath and myself running around the forest as a mud man

-Visiting Taj Mahal

-Motorbike's trips in SEA

-Hiking The Dragon’s Backbone At Longji Rice Terraces

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always willing to help whoever wants to improve or would like to learn Spanish. Happy to talk about life and travel experiences and give some tips from the places I've been to and how to travel on a budget.

Photography, video making, Italian languague and Yoga are on my list of things I wanna learn and/or get more into it...so hopefully I come across some expert couchsurfers in those areas
